  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

YEC often re-itterrate the claim that there is no evidence for life in the fossil recorded before the so called Cambrian "explosion" and that there was a "sudden appearance" of life. This is not true, and it has been known for long that there exists life forms before the Cambrian. However it is not until recent year that knowledge has "exploded" about the eras before the Cambrian. On of the periods that precedes the Cambrian is the Ediacaran period and it show that life did not "suddenly" appeared in the Cambrian but has been gradual evolved from earlier periods, i.e the Ediacaran period.

To my delight, I saw that Royal Tyrrell Museum a few day ago posted a 40 minute speech on the recent finds in the pre-Cambrian era (the Ediacaran period).

If interested, you can find it here:

The speech is held by a curator at the museum. I did some back ground search on her and it seams like she did her master last year (2015), possible in paleontology, and the research she present seams to be her own. At any rate it is an interesting speech and I recommend any one interested in the evidence for evolution of early life forms to watch it.
