Anyone else at Liberty? I am taking online classes through their Distance Learning Program for the second year.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Of course, the problem with DE is that you miss out on most of the community aspects of university. Tho on the plus side, you don't have to worry as much about the somewhat draconian "Code of Conduct":

Yes, I am also taking the DLP program! Do you like it? This is my second year taking DLP, after 3 years of on campus.

I am in the DLP program too! first yr masters. Getting my masters in Professional Counseling. Of course I am in VA so I get some funds for being a VA resident. I got my undergrad distance too from Bluefield...

Nope. I honestly hope the degree you earn will be useful for you. After looking at some of their curriculum, I'm frankly surprised that they're accredited at all.

So far my experience with DLP at Libertyu is positive. its a bit pricey unless you are doing a semenary program. They have frequent internet system issues. Other than that it is a great school. The only thing that bothers me is that the entrance reqierments seem to be very easy to meet compared to other schools. For instance for other counseling programs they require letters of recommendation, a personal interview, a letter of intent, completion of the MMPI psychological test etc. Liberty did not require any of those. As a result im guessing people are not weeded out who really arent cut out for the program and so somewhere down the line people will realize they arent called to the program and drop out after devoting considerable time and money towards a degree completion.
