Liberal Christians are different depending on which liberal Christian you talk to. Their main belief is that of whether certain parts of the Bible should be taken literally, or even whether they should be taken as TRUE or not. They often don't believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and if they do they usually take most of what's said to be completely symbolic or parable instead of being as it says.

Any yes, before anyone asks I am a conservative. And no, I'm not a fundamentalist (using the general context of the word). I believe that God's Word is inerrant and can be taken as a historical document and (mostly) literal teaching. I don't assume that God was talking in riddles when He wrote the Bible, I assume He was talking to His people as you or I would talk to each other, but on a much grander scale.

Why don't you go to the Liberal Christian forum and find out?

Well, whenever someone asks what a liberal Christian is, they tend to say something like, "We don't know, but we love you. Have some ice cream." The answer is a bit vague.

I guess many would call me a liberal, while others would see me as pretty conservative. I guess it's just a matter of perspective, but generally people who are seen to be conservative, will for example show great support for Israel and oppose abortion and gay marriages etc.

One of God's prophecies yet to be fulfilled:

Isaiah 32:1-5
1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.
2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

hahaha ok

why don't you just say that liberal christians aren't real christians? it's quite obvious that's what you (and porcupine) believe.

however, we're pretty lucky since God determines who is christian, not angry fundamentalists.

They often don't believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God
correct; Jesus is the Word, not the bible.

Junk, Fallacy of Evocation.

"Liberal" in that sense is different that today's usage.

Another reason for my distaste for the KJV: No one knows how to read it right.

Liberal meant generous in the KJV. The liberals of today always proclaim theirt own generosity (with other people's tax money) and their compassion.

liberal in that the Word of God may or has errors, that sexual sins are really not sin at all, and lifestyles of such should be accepted. concern more about the earths kingdoms then the Kingdom of God and his righteouness. often thesistic evoultion and sometimes pro-abortion..which really is pro-fornication. pro rights for just about anyone and anything!
thats what I have it mean to be..
the only liberality we should have is Godly love! *God is righteous* *his love is also!*
