  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why don't we write a story, together? This can be a good exercise to improve our writing skill. :)
I will begin. Everyone of us must write a paragraph at least in continuation. The paragraph must consist of at least three lines.

For instance, I write: "XXX is a girl in XXX school. Blah Blah Blah. One day, she fall off into the cliff."

The next poster will continue with a paragraph from where I left off.

"All the way she fell into... blah blah blah" and so forth.

Every writer will contribute a paragraph or two, or three, depending on his or her mood. :)

If you want to communicate with other writers, use brackets like this ( Hi.)

Extra information:

Some areas you can try to work on in the story.
Description. Setting. Character. Plot.
All of these are essential elements in story writing.
Some tactics you can try to make use of.
Foreshadowing. Flashback. Metaphor.

It was a hot day in the city of Tumala, an ancient city located in the middle of the sky. The city was substained in the sky in a floating manner through the use of magnetic forces. It was discovered by the scientists in Tumala long ago, that the Middleearth, the term used to described the land dwellers in the land area below the floating city, consisted of strong negative magnetic forces, which if made use of, could create a floating city and that sparked the birth of Tumala.

Neon Bright, a young teenager, born in the city of Tumala always dreamt of visiting the middleearth, in spite of the warnings given by the elders in the city, about how wicked the people in the middleearth were. That did not deter the young boy from wanting to travel down to middle earth to take a look at what it was like to live in the land below the floating city.

That day, Neon decided that for once and for all he was going to go down to the middleearth. He packed his schoolbag but instead of putting in books and pens, he put in some rope, some food and put a love letter given to him by Isabella Ferrari (whom he had a major crush on) in his jacket pocket. With Isabella's letter, he felt stronger; he was prepared for anything.

He said good bye to his mom and set out to school as usual, but instead of going to school, he went instead to the edge of Tumala. Suddenly, looking down over the edge, he felt the strong grip of fear. He nervously tied the rope to a nearby lampost and made his way to the very edge. Scared thoughts flashed through his mind: would he come back? Would he see his family or Isabella again? Were the people of middleearth going to kill him? Eventually he put his hand on Isabella's letter and started his descent.

It was a long way down & Neon Bright was not fond of great heights. Besides the wind played with his rope swinging him none too gently through the air like the pendulum of some exotic clock. It made his poor little tum-tum feel quite ill.

Gingerly he descended, clinging to his frail rope for dear life & thinking life above was looking better by the minute. Suddenly all choice was taken from him. Isabella's cherished letter slipped from his pocket & swirled gently down like a tattered feather. Neon Bright watched its descent with anguished eyes but swirls of early morning mist rose up to greet him & Isabella's letter disappeared as if it had never been. Neon Bright let out an anguished howl & slid the rest of the way down the rope like a dervish.

He landed with great impact, But Was to consentrated on his burning hands. He sat for a moment, recovering from his fall, Then looked around in shock around him. There where trees not far away, He had never seen anything like them before. They towered far above him.
A shudder ran through his body as he relized what he had done. He was a fool, He had left safty for the unknowen. Not to mention that he had been walking through the trees and had lost sight of the rope...

As he realised that he was lost a tingle ran down his spine. All he wanted to do was to find out the truth about these mysterious lands, and now he was stuck there. He looked about him. In every direction were tall trees that looked exactly the same. He had no choice but to continue onward through the woods.

He wandered through the woodland when a quick movement startled him. He saw something scurrying along the path. It stopped suddenly. Neon saw that it was a small, grey, furry creature with a long tail. It looked at him and then ran off, vanishing into thin air. Desperate, Neon ran in the direction that it ran, trying to find it. He couldn't see it, but he ran on regardless. All of a sudden he stopped, unable to believe his eyes. He stood still, frozen with awe and amazement.

Neon looked down apone the shadowed city. No life was visable and it looked rather crumbled...He decided it was probably abandened long ago. He push the nevous warnings for his conscience aside. and walked slowly down the hill to the city. The trees slowly disapeared as he desended the hill and he became aware of of exposed he felt.

The shadowed city was not like any city in Tumala which Neon was used to. It was made of brick, a kind of brick that was so outdated in Tumala that no one ever used them to build the cities in Tumala anymore. Unlike Tumala which made use of metal and silver and gold to make a solidified city, the shadowed city was still making use of brick. The gate was rusty and it appeared to be make of bronze. Little red paints tainted the rusty bronze gate, little red paints that looked like dry blood. An unbearable stench came out of the city, stench of rotten flesh and bones. Surely, it must had come from the decay animals that died within there.

Neon walked through the gate, ignoring the pounding of his heart, gripped from deep within him by a curiousity that was too great to quench.

"Who are you?" It was a voice with an odd accent. Neon turned towards the direction fo the voice.

(What happened to the love letter of Isabella Ferrari? I am trying to improve my description ability because
I am the worst in setting, description... and such stuffs.)

'Who am I? Who am I?' Neon Bright spluttered playing for time while his mind lept into overdrive.

'My dear person,' fear made Neon Bright foolishly pompous,'I am a foreign emissary & I have lost some correspondence of great import.' Silently Neon Bright congratulated himself on not even having told a lie, well not a proper lie at any rate. 'As a resident of these parts I expect you will be able to help me located it.'

'Just my luck,' the person with the odd accent groaned. 'I always get the live ones. They're either mad or bad & sometimes both. Look here, wise guy, whoever you are you can't come in here.'

"Why can't I?" Neon Bright asked, trying to stall for time even though his heart was pounding with fear. "You still had not answered my question about whether you are willing to help to find the correspondence of great import?"

The person with the odd accent spoke in a language I could understand, thought Neon Bright to himself. This is not surprising, considering that the inhabitants of Tumala originally came from middleearth.

The inhabitant was shaped much like himself, but slightly taller. He was a human being, all right. He looked very normal, not like what a violent middleearthlings had often looked like in the imagination of Neon.

His taste of fashion was weird, though. He was dressed in an elaborate of purple, green and orange. More like the robe of a clown to the mind of Neon. No one in Tumala would dress in a robe like that.

"I DON'T want to sell you anything," Neon frantically interrupted. "I MUST find my letter!"
"Well," the difficult man said, "I did get an odd manuscript this mornin', it was written funny-like, like it was from a different town or somethin'. If THAT'S what you want, it's gonna cost ya........"

"I am willing to take it," Neon replied.
For the love of my life, I am willing to do anything, thought the boy to himself.
"How much does it cost?"

The man replied, "It costs you an errand in which you must do on my behalf. If you agree to that errand, I will let you have that letter."

"What errand?" Neon Bright asked, deciding that he will do anything just to get his love letter back.

"My son, roughly about your age, is about to be enlisted into the army of Shada. As you know, he is my only son and he is always weak in fighting. If he enlists into the army, I will never see him, again. Look at this city, Balat. It was once a flourishing city, but now, it is reduced to ruins. I will give you the letter if you are willing to enlist in place of my son into the army of Shada at the military barrack of Coumie. Come to find me at the village of Tarsha, after you are enlisted with the proof of your enlistment at the army of Shada. My son's name is Nit Habitson. You will enlist, of course, in his name."
