In a recent Poll, (see here: Which Vice should I work on overcoming) I asked which vice I should work on overcoming, and thanks to Michie, I've come to the conclusion that my biggest defect, that I should work on overcoming is fear, not only worldly fear, but disordered fear in general. I need to develop courage, and trust God, and have only a filial fear of Him, a proper filial fear of Him, a fear of offending Him, not because it makes me such a horrible person, but a fear of offending Him, simply because He is all good and worthy of all my love.

So I've decide to start working on, developing my devotion to the Divine Mercy, and start reading St. Faustina's Diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul. My devotion to the Divine Mercy is mainly due to me being a bit of a fan of the Marians the Immaculate Conception and them promoting it. I'm particularly a fan Fr. Donald Calloway, mainly because he is a huge devotee of Our Lady, I really want to read his Champion of the Rosaries. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else has a devotion to the Divine Mercy, how their devotion is, and what advice they can give me?

Here's video of Fr. Donald Calloway, if anyone is interested, it's a bit long though:

I love the Divine Mercy. Before I entered the Church, I read St. Faustina's Diary. A lot of it was a bit tough to read. But overall I found it very edifying. I am more devoted to the Divine Mercy than I am the Rosary. I am hesitant to tell you that but I think it is only because I was protestant before I was Catholic. It can be a tough hurdle to jump for some of us. We acknowledge Mary in the Divine Mercy Chaplet but it really focuses on the Divine Mercy from God. And with my hurdles, I just find it more comfortable. I remember when I was called to the nursing home upon a dying patient's request, that is what I prayed as she lay dying. I'm still working on the Rosary but I find it somewhat complicated with the different mysteries on different days. I do not know if you noticed or not, but I posted St. Faustina's Diary in its entirety in the OBOB chapel.

Well done! That Chaplet of the Divine Mercy can be extremely helpful for the dying!

I forgot you had the Diary of Saint Faustina posted on the OBOB Chapel. I'm not sure if I'll be able to read more of her Diary tonight, but what I've read so far is quite good, what she said about her, going to Warsaw, without hesitation and focusing on the here and now, has been very helpful for me, and overcoming fear, although I still need to work on internalizing that.

Keep praying, I hope you'll be able to get into the habit of saying the rosary, I for my part, need to work on saying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy more.

Let's pray for each other that we can fully take part of the fullness of faith the Church offers us.

I've listened to the prayer for years on EWTN, so much so that my kids tell me it was always on when they came home from school!
I used to pray it on the school run to pick the younger ones up because the walk was too short for a rosary. I think I should probably revisit it.
