Let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no. For whatever is more than these comes from evil. (Mat 5:37; James 5:12).
• “In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking; but he who holds back his lips is wise.” (Pro 10:19).
The best way to try to bring someone around is saying the truth every time and always seeking in Jesus His wisdom and love. After all, who will disagree with us if everything that we utter is right and always caring for the well-being of people around us?
So, don’t assume compromise with somebody (Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin – Ecc 5:6), nor avouch something in a hurry! Seek in Jesus the find out the truth:
• “Do not be rash with your mouth, and do not let your heart be hasty to say a word before God. For God is in Heaven, and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few. For a dream comes through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice by the multitude of words.” (Ecc 5:2,3).
Recall the evil that Joshua brought to Israel for not seeking to hear the Creator’s voice (read on this in Joshua 9). This brought problems to Israel after more than 100 years (2Sam 21:1-3).
So, have a good day taking care with the words that come out of you. After all, you can’t swallow what you speak and a simple bad word can cause a great destruction (it is suffice to find a drought heart – James 3:5,6).
