Is it because it was the only creation made in His likeness?
Is it because humans are the main source of His worship and the main connection relationship-wise?
He breathed life into us. That is much more intimate than to speak it into existence.

I also wondered....If God would have spoken man into exsistence, then would the Word have become flesh? (It's just a thought.)... The Word was with God. The Word was God. But the Word didn't become flesh until Jesus.
I want to thank all of you for your replies. It's going to take a while for me to learn how to navigate around in this site. Blessings are ours, Praise Our Savior Jesus.

The Word only became flesh because of sin.

If there had never been no sin then Jesus would never have been crucified.

Christian theologians have disagreed about this for centuries.

If humans had never sinned, would the Incarnation have taken place just for greater fellowship and understanding between God and humans?

If there had never been no sin then Jesus would never have been crucified.

Of course, Christ would not have been crucified, but this does not necessarily mean Christ would never have been born.

Sin was around long before man was created. Mans disobedience put him on the road to destruction. Despite our sin God still loves us. A love that will take forever and beyond to comprehend. The Word became flesh because God loves His creation. Yes, if there never had been any sin Jesus would never have been crucified. Peace on earth would be the norm. (Soon to arrive.)

Hate to throw this in, but....couldn't there have been an Old Testament incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ?
There are some that believe that Jesus had a few incarnations throughout the old testament.

One example (and this isn't my interpretation, just interesting)

Isa 22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
Isa 22:21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
Isa 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

Correlates to

Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

There are also some that believe that Jesus was literally the first Adam. But I dont think so.

God, The Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost is the "us".
Thank you for explaining this Julie. The "us" in this verse has confused me for some time until you explained it. :)
