"Let Us Focus on You Prayer"
Let us focus on You, Lord, not on others,
Not on others' failures, nor on others' successes.
Let us use prayer to direct our focus upward on You, Oh Lord.
Let us read the Bible even when our hearts are faraway from You.
Your Word will draw us into Your heart filling up that empty cold space with warmth, love and light.
Let us "feed" on the Word as often as feasible and ALWAYS when we're tempted.
Let us be patient and "still" in our hearts as we wait for the answers to our prayers.
And when we can't seem to stop ourselves from sin, Let Your angels push us down to our knees first, so that we will accept the strongest love in existence, Yours.
By accepting Your love, we will resist our own self-willed love of our weaknesses, the prison bars of our earthly obsessions.
Help us to accept Your just discipline when we do wrong, and to accept Your loving rewards when we do right.
Help us to open our hands upward, towards You in heaven -
NOT clawing outward where we greedily grasp and grab toward our wicked desires or toward our prison bars.
Only upward, Lord, so that we may release our hold on the earthly bars, the bars which will fade away as our focus remains on You.
We love what we focus on; As we turn to You, our love, our focus will fully be You.
Finally, Lord, Let us remember Your giant hands can do anything.
Let us NEVER doubt that!
Your hands can part the seas of ALL of our troubles, ALL of our strongholds, washing them away with all of our sins.
Oh God, please part our troubled seas opening a path to Your heart.
