  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Let us be patient...

We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

2 Timothy 2:24
The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,

Patience is a virtue in which I am seriously lacking. I pray daily for this grace, and daily I am in need of it. It's all well and good to be patient with folks here, after all it takes time to respond and therefore to consider your words with much more care. IRL...it is a struggle for me. I try to keep reminders about me, you can't look in any direction in my home and not see something that calls to mind our faith.

I wonder if any of you have little tips or tricks that are useful in catching yourself in moments of impatience that you would share with me.

Peace be with you!

Sandy

God I want to learn patience. Hurry up and teach me this!!! :) Great post Zoo Mom.

I honestly refer to grace. When someone is really frustrating me, Or I am losing my patience I have tended to react rather than reflect the one inside. I am learning that since I am being saved for much and that God has in fact been so very patient with me, that I need to do the same with others. I would just pray about it and ask God to let you in or show you a glimpse of when you need to be more patient. Then rely on him to show you how.

I know this was probably not very helpful, but perhaps someone can expound.

No, it's fine, and thank you. :) I rely on Grace heavily as well. What else is there, after all. :)

I severely lack patience..usually i'm patient with every one but my children :(

And due to my lack of patience, i am all too quick to lose my temper...hooray for the Sacrament of Reconcilliation!

It's one of the faults i least like about myself...not that i like any of them...but if i despise one over another, then this is fairly high up on the list of thing's that need resolving most speedily.

God Bless.

 Deb. :)

Exactly! The ones whom I need to be the most patient with are usually the ones who get the least. :( Why is that?? I love my children, as I know you love yours! I would give my life for my children...why does it make me exasperated to give them my undivided attention?
