If you look online on what is the diff between CBD and Delta 8, there are major differences. Really major. The effects of each are substantially different. You sure it is not being confused with CBD oil which may contain a minuscule portion of 8.
It's true. I am rude.Sorry, I don't get your response. I look at this forum maybe once a day, and can't respond and read it throughout the day. I'm a busy boy.
I've been amazed at how Delta 8, in moderate amounts - really knocks out hay fever. This time of year I have sneezing fits up to 10 in a row, with head congestion - pretty miserable due to heavy pollen. When I eat even a quarter Delta 8 gummy, my head is clear, no sneezing or congestion. Online it says that one medical benefit of it is as a natural anti-histamine. Works amazingly well.D8 is simply thc extracted from hemp according to the legal amount allowed for growing hemp. It's pot and gets you high like pot because it is pot. Pot = thc = D8.
(Folks are now growing hemp here in south-central VA and you can smell it rolling down the road lol)
I don't think smoking pot is a sin. Like most things that give pleasure, they have their place; moderation and context is key. I would rather be around someone high than someone belligerent because their drunk. Furthermore, if it helps you because of some ailment, all the better. That's probably why God made it.
Didn't mean to say that. This is a neat platform, just takes lots of time. It's true. I am rude.
I'm very interested in this discussion, just didn't stay online long after my post. What I'm talking about is Delta 8, which is legal in all states and is freely sold in stores everywhere. The issue really is not about legality but rather is there a difference between Delta 8 and coffee? Both affect our minds and behavior. I find Delta 8 much more beneficial then coffee with no negative side issues like I get from coffee.OP creator joined, posted this one thread, and logged out 2 minutes later.
I'd wait for this person to come back to see if he's even interested in a discussion or if he's just hoping to start something.
I'm not even sure we ought to be discussing a product if it's not federally legal. And THC, last I heard, was illegal in the US, regardless of what some states are doing. As Christians we follow the law unless it conflicts with our faith, and making some drugs illegal has no conflict with the faith.
Couple that with the OP creator claiming an age of 67, and the question must be asked why now? Is he/she experiencing pain? If so following their physicians medical advice is best. Self medicating for pain relief isn't usually a good thing - especially when illegal substances are being considered.
It takes time to develop a method to limit the amount of time wasted talking to hostile idiots. What I've learned is to quickly put names into the ignore function as soon as they get on my nerves. But the reward comes when I remove them from my ignore list...and for whatever reason, poof! they are gone from the forum. Usually, they never return again. This gives me joy in that I can spot people who are soon to be evaporated from the conversation. Granted, it's very often me that gets evaporated. I've tried other forums but most of them have only a handful of users left. This forum forgives us sinners eventually and so is the most popular forum of it's kind.Didn't mean to say that. I'll be real open here, 45 years ago I used pot almost daily for several years. I never was addicted - back then the pot was nothing like it is today. We grew our own, the lids were $10 for a full oz, and I could drive after smoking a full joint. Sure I did it for the wrong reasons. It was not addicting and left me with no side effects except a dull head for a month after I stopped. I totally get the concern of the fellow who found drug abuse opened doors to demons. Acid does that well, and so does watching many of the modern movies today. Many believers enjoy a beer or two, no issue. But overdone - alcohol definitely opens doors to demonic oppression and control. Yet even the bible speaks of health benefits of some wine. Delta 8 is very mild, with real health benefits. Of course if overdone - it can be a problem like anything out of moderation. I got some for the first time recently just to see what its like. I made the mistake of eating a whole gummy - 25mg - and it was like smoking a whole joint of the early 70's, of homegrown. Worse because it gave me a headache and wouldn't let me sleep. Simply too much. But a quarter or half a gummy really was helpful - cleared up severe hay fever.. Much more pleasant and relaxing then alcohol. I guess beer does the same for some but I hate beer.Well ... coffee is addictive lol
I don't mind taking some time to post, but just don't do it all in one day. I was surprised at the hostility coming on due to my not posting immediately, but a day later. I felt like dropping out and deciding to never come back - but seeing some kind and pleasant responses is encouraging. Not sure if you are expressing that you feel my posts came on as from a hostile idiot. Maybe I am, don't mean to be )-:It takes time to develop a method to limit the amount of time wasted talking to hostile idiots. You nailed my main question, well done. Really, if I think on it - even in the Bible it speaks of wine cheering the heart. But drunkenness is bad news and we lose control . Many believers are fine with beer, or even tobacco due to their mind altering effects, and its essentially the same - seeking extra euphoria. I'm finding when used with wisdom, Delta 8 seems to be rather beneficial for me, clearing up hay fever and enhancing concentration. I have issues with restlessness esp. in my legs - and the D8 seems to relax that too. So is euphoria from a natural plant in moderation an issue? Main question.Delta 8 is no different than delta 9, just weaker, akin to the weed of the 60's. THC is THC regardless, so the ethical question would remain surrounding euphoria.
The issue really is not about legality
It was entirely my fault. There are people who get ejected for other forums (my theory) and they bring their hostility with them on their first post. Or they never respond to their first post and they disappear. I regret my error. Usually I ignore their topic and just say "Welcome New poster, thanks for the topic. I think there are quite a few statements on this thread that simply are not facts. CBD and Delta 8 are not the same. Neither CBD nor Delta 8 are illegal. Both being sold openly everywhere. How is the use of coffee- a plant God made which many of us use daily to keep alert and for energy (energy drinks incl.) - how are they ok, but Delta 8 is bad? I have been finding major relief from bad hay fever with little use of D8. Much better than allergy medicine that almost knock you out. Sure D8 can give a nice buzz, call it high if you please- but coffee affects me much worse. Yes, we pursue sober mindedness while many believers enjoy a beer for the way it makes them feel and relax.legality is actually a major issue to the Christian, as we are to follow the law.
Basically, your wanting to know if this is okay for recreational use because you enjoy the "high". I think the answer is in the high because as Christians we are to be sober minded.
If you had health issues the conversation might be different... But your just wanting to get high and CBD is illegal according to federal law. Because states are bucking federal law is neither here nor there, federal law is a law we should also follow, and enjoying being high isn't a good thing.
No problem, I’m finding this interesting and thought provokingIt was entirely my fault. Please check the facts- from my research- neither CBD nor D8 (not the same) are illegal anywhere in USA. And as I asked in another response- why is it fine to pursue- even need daily the ( high) from coffee- yet not from D8? Maybe you are totally anti beer, and it’s fine if you are, yet many believers daily enjoy a beer after hard work or for recreation. What’s the diff?legality is actually a major issue to the Christian, as we are to follow the law.

Ok but consider there are two ways offered that deal with this. One is to coat receptors that stimulate pain or nerve inflammation (prescription drugs do this also) thus stopping the signal, and the other is to dull the senses and distract our attention. CBD does the first while THC does the second. The coating will last 12 hours while the distraction needs repetitive refuelling. So is euphoria the better option or do we self justify to enjoy the buzz?I have issues with restlessness esp. in my legs - and the D8 seems to relax that too. So is euphoria from a natural plant in moderation an issue? Main question.
