  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sometimes you can send it back to the manufacturer, or look for an authorized repair center on the manufacturer's website. Who is the manufacturer and what model lens it it?

Sometimes the zoom lenses interior lenses get catty wompy, and causes "back focusing". Is that what is happening?
If so, just send it back to canon. That way you won't affect your warranty.
I hope you get it figured out.
backfocussing? dunno what it is i'm afraid... *blush*
not a pro or anything- just taken a few courses and trying to get better and better and learn as much as i can. been doing it for a few years only... :0)
aren't the warrentees like a year or something? cos my lens is a bit older than that i think. i got it about 2 or so years ago.

it kinda seems to struggle to focus- like it will shift left and right a bit, but wont settle on the fine focus. so normally i just give it a little twist to get it to where it should be and then it beep-beeps to say it's in focus.
but recently i had some pics developed and a lot seemed out of focus slightly. so i dunno what's up with this stupid thing.
and they aren't exactly cheap now are they!:(
