I saw some of the first movie.

CloudTen just oughta quit.

The rapture happens WHEN Jesus comes, and He doesn't come back until AFTER the tribulation.

And aside from that, every CloudTen picture I've seen is, well, manure.'

Glad you put it in the "Fantasy" section though. I'm getting tired of book stores putting actual religious texts (even if they're not the correct religion) next to Tolkien, just to make room for Left Behind next to the Quran and the Talmud. When LB deserves, at most, to be next to Milton's "Paradise Lost", Dante's "Divine Comedy", and Lewis's "Screwtape Letters".

Did you read the books as well? If I hadn't read the books, I probably would like 1 & 2 as well.

I haven't read any of the books, and I hated the first movie.

I really enjoyed Left Behind III. But then again, I also enjoyed I and II, so according to some people I'm just crazy.

Do you enjoy Pepsi, and favor capitalism over socialism?

If so, HI! I'm your crazy evil antithesis.

Though, since you're more than likely good, and I am evil to evil, I may infact, be good too? Same in terms of sanity?

Huh?
I don't get it:scratch:.
But it's probalby funny so :D.
Actually I very much dislike Pepsi. I try not to think about politics but I guess I prefer capitalism.
BTW, I did read the books (to whoever asked that). I really enjoyed them. Even if they were not perfectly theologically correct (which they may or may not be. I haven't studied enough to know) they were still good thought-provokers and their intent was obviously pure. And knowing that many people have actually become saved after reading them, my guess is that their purpose is being fulfilled.
That's why I'm okay with the movies. Even if they did not follow the events of the stories too well, they stuck to the theological points and even added themes that made it universally biblically applicable, regardless of end-times views.

I thought it was really funny seeing Louis Gosset, JR starring next to Kirk Cameron. I mean, I love Kirk, he's sooooo earnest and you can just see his faith and the Spirit radiating from him. But Gosset, JR is an ACTOR, a serious and hardcore actor who has won awards and been amazing for years in so many films. Seeing them act side by side was just funny, my wife kept commenting on how in every seen they were together Kirk was sweating heavily and always looked down when Louis looked at him.

I would be intimidated by his ability, too.

As to the theological message...well, I need more training in eschatology to have as firm a grounding as I would want before discussing the End Times, but the basic message of the films is the Gospel, so how can that be wrong?

I guess he must be, if he made that movie. I loved the end where he's talking to Carpathia and he looks over his shoulder out the window and Carpathia turns around to get a missle in the face! That was great!

Yeah, I enjoy the climactic scenes in each of them, a nice attempt to be epic with no budget and no real effects. Some of the best movies are low-budget, especially horror flicks and sci-fi flicks, they end up having real enthusiasm and energy (which the big studios usually lack) which makes it a lot of fun.

Well, the story of Left Behind messes with one issue: The Rapture happens AFTER the Tribulation. All the verses in the Bible justifying the Rapture happen when Christ returns. Christ returns after the Tribulation.

My problem is that everyone assumes that they're going to be in heaven when before the anti-Christ comes around, and come awfully close to basing minitries around that point. We will be here. If God offered the chance to go to Heaven before the Tribulation, wouldn't it be more Christ-like to stay and help down here?

You know, I actually thought of this issue and thought of praying for exactly that...for the Lord to leave me to "fight the good fight", if you will.

But I'm pretty nuts...:amen:
