Just a thought.. anyone here find many bits in the last one ridiculous? I giant cross of lightning in the sky?

What possible biblical basis is there for this? We didnt even decide on using the cross as a christian symbol until years after the bible was finshed!

And didnt it specifically say rayford died, and then a chapter or two later he actually hadnt?

I enjoyed the series, but there were several bits in it that I just had to look at and think 'oh please!' Like the whole Vi Ivins VI VI VI 666 thing...

Okay, first of all, we need to remember that this is a work of fiction we are talking about. So, yes, some liberties, such as a "lightning cross" will be taken.

Secondly, I think it was speculated that Rayford was dead. There may be some confusion, though, because his son, while nicknamed "raymie" was actually named Rayford.

The books were written from their imaginations. We have no clue how it's going to happen. It could happen as it says there. It could happen any other way. We don't know so the best thing we can do is use our imaginations. It really isn't ridiculous being that much bigger signs will probably occur when Christ returns. Even though the cross wasn't the Christian symbol until the Bible was finished, Jesus made it a base for Christianity and that's why we use it. I enjoyed the series. It really didn't matter that there were some things that weren't the way I'd picture them to happen.
