  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 I use to have alot of questions...............and whenever I would ask someone a question about the bible they would tell me to ask the Holy Spirit for the interpretation...........................

At first I was angry because I thought after all these years the bible should have been interpreted..........the answers should be known:scratch:

And now I read the bible at home and whenever I see something that is new to me and answers a question .....I ask a question to see if others confirm what I have seen.

But now it seems as if alot of people(not everyone) is mad at me and they think they have all the answers...................:help:

But we do need to gather together and the Holy Spirit is our teacher........should we all not come to some sort of an agreement? Should we all talk about the things we see in order for no gaps to exist that satan can sneak in with .............to confuse us? Because sometimes we can be deceived..........and that is something that I would want nipped in the hinney immediatly.....if I was deceived..................

I guess I'm venting.............:sigh:

You seem to be at a stage in your bible study where you really want to understand more deeply what you are reading.

This would probably also make it alot more interesting to you, and encourage you to continue.

Perhaps a more thorough commentary would be a good next step in your study. I found a similar experience to yours when I went to read the book of Revelation.

After reading it I was more confused than when I started. I just couldn't sort it all out.

My pastor (after trying to dissuade me from reading Revelation first, before something more practical), lent me a big commentary on Revelation, which was actually quite balanced.

Even though later I found there were several 'systems' of interpretation for Revelation (Premillenial, Post-millenial, Amillenial, and subcategories like pre-trib, mid-trib, and post-trib etc.) having one big good look at a NT book from one man's perspective was really great for me.

I learned that a person can do the work and gain alot of understanding. Even though l ended up with an opinion differing from those who wrote the books I used, I appreciated their efforts.

You would probably benefit from a multi-volume style of commentary. But don't let the size of these books overwhelm you. Just pick your favourite NT book (mine was John, then Luke) and start there, where you already have an interest.

Sometimes it is good to vent. The bible is a very complex book. The best any of us can do is to read it for ourselves, consider what others tell us, but eventually it is up to us to decide what we believe.

I remember years ago reading Matthew 24:4 where Jesus says, "Take heed that no one decieves you." This is a very clear indication that there are those who will decieve. Ask God to help you to not be decieved on the essential issues. I believe He will do His part to keep you on the straight and narrow way.

Hi Tamara,

We all to some degree want to feel and believe we are right. I am not different than others.

Is it possible to have all real Born Again Believers come together in one understanding, I doubt it. However, there is a equilibrium that balances real believers out from back slidden, lost or carnal believers, that is when one is sold out to Christ and understands we are all different and yes believe different on a host of issues.

I am biased. I personally believe that there is basically very little competition and arguing in the Dispensational Camp of Theology as apposed to all other theologies which generally fall into the category of Covenant Theology.

This may be a little deep, but after many years and hard study I have come to this conclusion. I was in the Covenant camp for my younger years and the hate, discontent, discord, miss interpretation and more was not my cup of tea. I searched and read and studied. The only consistent method that brings unity is the Literal Normal understanding of God's word and that naturally leads to the Dispensational Frame work of understanding God's word.

You know, now that I am in this "realm" there is peace, understanding, no confusion, no guessing, no hate, no slamming, and on and on. There is a since of togetherness un-parallel with other views and belief systems.

If a person really want something from God and seek Him with all their heart, there is no way He will deny them. It does not mean that God will not use those within the body who have gained wisdom in life experience to help and give counsel - from seeing the scriptures played out in the truth of life. ften, we want the easy way and get frustrated that it does not come easy, but how does life, the greatest communication one can ever have, come....? One day at a time, and this is how we learn of God and grow in His grace - precept upon precept, promise upon promise. With patience we posessour souls.

Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Lu 21:19 "By your patience possess your souls.
