  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am really excited about my little guy! He has learned 4 new words in the last 3 days, "Yeah", "Me", "oh oh" (uhoh), and "buh" (book!). He takes a book and says "buuuhh" hehe. And today he showed he has a concept of right and wrong pretty strongly.... I was ignoring him doing stuff and he went to the bookcase and threw off 5-6 books, and I said from the other room (I could hear him) "are you doing something mommy wouldn't like?" and when I walked in the room he looked totally ashamed, looking at the ground and almost in tears! It was so cute and amazing to me.... Its really neat to watch a little person grow from a crying unable baby to a "I wanna do it!" toddler. :) He will be 14 months in a little over a week. He already has a vocabulary of about 15 words and I think that's pretty good

Aren't kids great?! :)
When our first was born we kept trying to decide when the most fun age was. Every time he learned something new we'd say "Oh this has got to be the most fun" and then he'd learn something else and we'd think that was so fun. He's 8 and still amazing us. That applies to the other children, too. Its just as exciting with the fifth one.:)

That is really good, especially as he understands what he's saying.

It's so wonderful hearing them learn new words, isn't it? Some of the words and phrases they come up with are amazing. A few weeks ago Isabel (nearly two) tripped over, and when she got up again she said firmly "I'm suing!" Matt and I just looked at each other, astonished, wondering where on earth she had picked that one up! I suppose TV, but I'm sure I've never heard The Wiggles use that expression :)

My kids are all chatterboxes. I started when they were little reading alot to them and when I talked to them to teach them new words, I would point to my mouth and try to get them to pay attention. Singing songs is another great way to build vocabulary.

It's so great to see new language skills emerging. Just watching our little ones blossom is such a blessing.

Davy's newest, at 18 months, is "ay ay ay." He says it in this exasperated tone. And he's finally started using occasional sentences, like "Daddy go bye," when looking out the window on a workday. Oh, yes, and his favorite. Someone will say "I lovvvve DAVY!" And he'll respond with "I lovvvve.............. Daddy!" The kid is already a tease!

Sure is good for his daddy's ego, though. :)

He also says "aahhhh duh" which is all done. (end of meal) Its funny he learned mo (more) and all done because I was trying to teach him the sign language for those words.... for some reason I'm momma, no big deal, but daddy is daddeeeeeeee! :p ;)

Isn't this fun! And it just gets better. If you can Leanna, tape some of these words. It's so funny to listen to later.

These days my little guy is a parrot. He repeats, tv commercials, songs, us... It's so much fun to hear him. Like yesterday I asked him for a kiss when he woke up and he says "uuuuuhh my wips are bwoken." I was cracking up. His lips were broken so he couldn't kiss me.
