Why would you feel you have to change the word in the verse? That is a direct distortion. I know you would like the Bible to say mankind, but it doesn't.
With an absence of Scriptural evidence you are using exageration and speculation by inferring they had to work without ceasing somehow without the Sabbath command. I think millions upon millions of humans throught history in all sorts of cultures have managed to live without a Sabbath, or Sunday, weekly rest.
I wonder what "rest" would have looked like before the fall. There was no work on any day back then. I honestly can't even see Adam keeping a calender.
Perhaps a perspective for deeper fellowship......

Christian vs SDA : Sabbath Saturday or Sunday - YouTube
How could God revoke something that was never given to us? This sounds very exclusive to Israel: 13 Say to the Israelites, You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy."
I'm glad you a apparently get a blessing from Sabbath observance. The Sabbath is called a sign an covenant and etc. but I don't think it is ever directly called a blessing
The bible states that the early church kept the sabbath. I don't care what man says outside of the bible I go by what the bible says. After jesus' death his followers kept the sabbath according to the commandment. Years after jesus' resurrection paul, gentiles and jews kept the sabbath at the church of corinth. The change to God's law and time was prophesied so it was gonna happen and he has to use man to do it. How it happens could be subtle and gradual but it will happen. In the days of the apostles they could sense the spirit of antichrist working in their day. Sun worship was practiced in those days and sunday or the first day, as it was called, was called the venerable day of the sun. The son of perdition is real as well as the sun god Ra. The vatican city is heavily influenced by sun worship and sun symbols. It amazes me how Satan as charge and authority over how this flow of deception takes place. We are in the last days so there is no time left for any of these prophecies to be fulfilled outside of what has already been fulfilled. Stick to the word of god and you'll be safe. Listen to man and you'll be lost.
It's most likely a computer generated voice. If it was telling jokes or anti sunday, you'd most likely listen and say "Amen brother."Whats up with the creepy 'Stephen Hawkins' voices? Haven't watched one all the way through because of it... maybe it's just me.
Where do you read in the Bible that Christians "kept" the Sabbath?

A christian is a follower of christ. Jesus kept the sabbath and he's lord of the sabbath People like myself who have jesus as their lord will also keep the sabbath.
K4C said:The fourth commandment teaches us to keep the seventh day sabbath holy. After the death of jesus his followers, also known as christians, continue to rest on the sabbath according to the commandment. If jesus was to make a change to the sabbath he would have had to do it while he was alive because once the covenant is sealed with blood no changes can be made.
K4C said:Before paul's conversion we find him going to synagogues on the sabbath to beat those who believe in jesus, in other words, he would pull christians out of church and beat them , Acts 26:10-11 and Acts 22:19. We also find paul meeting every sabbath with gentiles and jews at the church in corinth. They gatheredby together every sabbath for over 80 sabbaths year after jesus.
Jesus also "kept" the Feast of the Dedication, AKA Hanukkah....
...Do you observe Hanukkah K4C?
What about the other 'commandments' K4C?
Deut 5,31
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee ALL the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may DO THEM in the land which I give them to possess it.
Those were NOT Christian assembly, not in the least.
I do what jesus taught us to do.
You say they weren't christian assemblies I say they were, we'll leave it at that.
Would you be able to share your rubric with me on why you don't keep the Feast of the Dedication?
...After-all Jesus kept that feast.
This is a fair question to ask any Sunday keepers out there, of which I am not one and I know of none personally. You are the one advocating that the keeping of a day is still commanded.

I'm not advocating anything here. I'm simply asking a question. I know why I keep the sabbath. There are many a sunday "keeper". I've heard it said on more than one occassion that Sunday is the "Christian Sabbath". Pythons asked where the bible says Christians kept the sabbath. I asked him where it says they kept sunday. Many people base their claim of sunday being a special day, on the idea that the disciples were keeping sunday instead of sabbath, yet the scripture does not say that anywhere.
I've heard Sunday being called the Christain Sabbath, also. Do you know of any Christians who worship on Sunday that wouldn't buy or sell on Sunday? Won't put gas in their car? Won't go out to eat? Won't go to a baseball game? Won't do yard work? Won't watch TV on Sunday? I don't know any. I know lot's of Christians who work on Sunday, including myself.
