Marine Le Pen attacks ban on French presidency run as a ‘political decision’
Far-right leader, who was found guilty of embezzlement of European funds, says conviction is a ‘denial of democracy’
As a result of being convicted of financial fraud, Marie Le Pen (leader of the far right
political party if France), has been legally prohibited from runnning in the next
election for prime minister in France.
Curiously, Le Pen, in the past, has expressed the opinion that politicians who
engage in financial fraud SHOULD BE BARRED FROM POLITICS, I suppose that
she meant any politician BUT HERSELF.
Although being barred from politics, IS within the French legal punishments for
financial fraud, Le Pen is claiming that the ruling was motivated by "politics".
This seems suspiciously like a plicy of "Apply the rule of law to my political
opponents, but NOT to me."
