It's time!

OK. I've only been an LCMS Lutheran for a year, but - for goodness sakes! - this is great news!

He translates foundational documents from the German and Latin, he's a first class theologian, he flies planes, he has worked in Africa, and he plays the banjo.

A man who can do all that can plan my castle onslaught any day.

I shall pray for our brothers and sisters in the LCMS.:crossrc::crossrc::crossrc::prayer::prayer::prayer::crossrc::crossrc::crossrc:

We in LCC have been blessed with a very confessional President; Robert Bugby; as our East District has also been with Paul Zable. I wish the same for the LCMS, and I hope and pray that if such happens that it brings unity and peace; not further division and schism.

Mark.

Synod's conservatives send message in coming election - STLtoday.com

"There's a strong grass-roots movement that the synod can do much better in its life all the way around," Harrison said. "There's a strong sense of desire for a change of course."

Not surprisingly, Kieschnick — the 12th president in the denomination's 163-year history — sees things differently.

The fact that so few churches cast ballots, he said, means that people are largely satisfied with the job he's done, and out of that sense of satisfaction, they simply figure not voting will ensure the status quo.

"I've been a part of this church long enough to know that if someone in office is doing a very poor job, we'd have more than 30 percent of them weighing in," he said. "Call it apathy or satisfaction, but they see no need to make a change."

If you guys were as widely read and informed as you say you are then you would have found the quote long before I found it. As it is, go find it yourselves.

It's common courtesy to include the source of a quote, especially when asked. One shouldn't have to go fishing around because of another's laziness. If you can't provide quotes or links to quoted material, don't post them.

If it's used as part of your position, it isn't others job to back up your claim.

The internet is a big place, it isn't others job to find your sources for you.

Here guys, I'll translate BoC's post for you:

Basically, I am shooting off from the hip and I don't really have any proof that K said this, but it makes for a good sound byte. I cannot provide the proof that you ask for, therefore, it is your own fault because you can't look for it yourselves.
At least Tangible came up with something that's got K wording things a little, well, questionably.

Until BoC comes up with some proof, I don't believe that K has said it.

I know it's true and I don't have to prove anything. Besides that I can't post links yet. If you can't take my word for it then everything that you people state will also have to be backed up with sources and not opinion. Remeber that anything you state without sources will be considered opinion and not a valid post.

You can type the link and we can cut and paste to see it. Your excuse just doesn't wash, I'm sorry.

Besides, most everyone else does indeed provide a link or a location for quoted material, especially if asked to do so. It's just plain common courtesy.
