[qute] Text you want to quote [/qute]

I'm misspelling the word quote so you can see what the tags should look like. Anything between those brackets will be quoted.

so where in the bible do you get the idea from that the law was abused, indeed...???

Implied. Christ had a habit of correcting wrong practices. The fact that He mentions this law doesn't mean it wasn't a good law, but that the people had started to abuse it.

could you elaborate on this one, showing scripture...???

I already posted the scripture. What needs to be elaborated?

sure thing....

Never will cease to amaze me how a man can call something God did, not good. But what do I know.

all right, so in what way does it differ from revenge? do you understand the word 'revenge' in this given context, as taking more than one eye for an eye?

The judge says "His punishment will be XYZ" but the one offended says "Forget that...eye for an eye, he's gonna get what's coming to him".

so these laws were no longer valid? anyway, could you provide scriptural evidence, again. and just btw, if they had lost their power, Christ could have reinstated their importance...

When the people said they wanted a king, God said "Fine". That's in the book of Samuel. Also consider how the Pharisees told the Romans that it was not legal for them to put anyone to death. A lot of things changed when men asked God to no longer rule under them. They became subject to other men.

You asked if the law was good. I said yes it was good. Why it's one way and not the other isn't for us to question. God said that such an offense was death, so that's what it was.

Of course, all of these punishments could be avoided if the people were you know...obedient. It's only those who are in violation of the law that suddenly have a problem with it. Wonder why that is...
