  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

LET TEARS FLOW

We’re shy to show the things we feel
We turn our heads and run
We feel too proud that we should kneel
Before God’s Holy Son

But God can see, the broken heart
Contrition of man’s soul
He sees the truth and sets apart
For Christ to make us whole

Not seldom will the mighty weep
Frequently strong men cry
For but a time God’s children sleep
But none of them will die

No tear can show a man is weak
But show, that he may care
They’ll often fall when God we seek
When of His love we’ll share

The times we sing, the times we pray
When hurt, and when we groan
When from The Lord we lose our way
When feeling all alone

To God they’re oft the sweetest wine
That makes His heart content
He sees them as an outward sign
When humble hearts repent

Tears! God values more than gold
Than pearls, or regent’s crown
They melt His heart when they unfold
When pride comes tumbling down

Treasure unique, in Heaven stored
At Jesus’ perfect feet
Aroma worthy of The Lord
A fragrance rich and sweet…

NO

In life, we need to make a choice
Each day that breaks anew
To heed The Holy Spirit’s voice
Or do as others do

It’s hard to tell from day to day
What Satan has in store?
What ploy would keep the foe at bay?
Which tactic win the war?

The devil gives us seldom peace
So oft there’s none at all
Until the end he’ll never cease
To tempt and make us fall

Most battles rage within the mind
The rest where weakness reigns
Where darkness seeks to keep us blind
With fetters, bonds and chains

Thus burdened, makes it hard to fight
But Christ, can set us free
To climb the hill, to gain the height
From which His servants see

We need to see the devil’s weak
The Truth, to make us grow
To find in Christ the strength we seek
To tell the devil “NO”

Each “NO” will cut him like a knife
Each “NO"will cause defeat
Each “NO” will bring The Tree Of Life
More close for us to eat

Till then, the fight for life goes on
Till then, there’s toil and stress
Till then, with “NO”, the war is won
Till then to Christ say “YES” …

A LAMP TO MY FEET

There it was, just lying there
Crinkled on the ground
From what I read I’d like to share
The treasures then I found

Even before the page was turned
I felt inside so strange
I’d read that You were so concerned
You died for me to change

I went to church I bought the book
I read Your word each day
Just like a fish I took the hook
Through faith I knew I’d stay

Your word is life my daily bread
And through it all was made
Without it man would soon be dead
All else would surely fade

It’s now the lamp unto my feet
Your plan for me on high
My bread of life my daily meat
It’s water when I’m dry

Your word will never void return
Although it may sound strange
It tastes so sweet yet bellies burn
When hearts begin to change

It came to me a dying fool!
It brought with wisdom hope!
Now deep inside, You’ve come to rule
And teach this child to cope

It’s through a tract, the truth I’ve found
Through grace I’m born anew
In faith I seek the higher ground
And endless life with You…

PATIENCE!

Yet true is God the faithful few
When oft His Light seems dim
He wants to see what man will do
If still we’re true to Him!

It’s good to wait with this in mind
Until The Lord returns
Seeking His strength, and always find
His Flame inside us burns

Sometimes it’s never quick enough
The Lord seems out of touch
We turn once more to worldly stuff
When waiting gets too much

Did Christ not come to set us free?
Set broken hearts aglow
Does faith in him not make us see?
There’s nowhere else to go?

Our time is in the Saviour’s hand
Each second of each day
When this we learn to understand
The Lord can have His way

For hearts to change, where lives ignite
Can sometimes take a while
But patience brings The Father’s Light
And faith will see Him smile

The Lord our God is never late
His timing never wrong
Miracles come to those who wait
But God knows just how long

Receive with grace the time He’s sent
Each moment God has blessed
For life our service is the rent
And patience endless rest…
