  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob. This is a French comedy that was recommended to me by a friend. It is very funny, and the humor is CLEAN (well, about as clean as you can get when the lead character and bad guys fall into a vat of liquidized bubble gum ). It's about a bigoted French Catholic who finds himself forced to take an Arab revolutionary to the airport, while being chased by a band of counter-revolutionary thugs and the police -- and they both wind up going into hiding as Jewish rabbis!

The US DVD edition is produced by Facets Video, and can be rented through Netflix.

I watched Shaun of the Dead today, and I cracked up laughing... I found it a little disturbing that there were kids who were no more than 10 there watching it, considering it was supposed to be restricted to people over 15... weird.
Were they with their parents...or did they sneak in?

I know of a few underage kids that want to see it...so I'm not surprised some would sneak in (when it comes out on DVD I plan on letting my younger brother [15] see it)
