Large Icons are Distracting

The member icons are very distracting while reading posts. They're much too large and bright. And round... like icons on every other forum. Round isn't better. The light background makes reading the grayish print difficult. The dark background is glaring and parts of each post don't show up. Maybe it's my aging eyes. Upgrades are sometimes necessary, and I'm not averse to change, but I liked the way this forum didn't look like every other forum or social site.

Could you share an example of parts of posts that aren’t showing in dark mode? I haven’t seen that yet.

Strangely, I toggled to dark mode while on this topic to answer the above response, and my original post showed up as a white background with no print!

Can you try refreshing?

Refreshing made no difference, but the problem seems to come and go. Right now dark mode works fine. Perhaps it corrected itself.

What is WRONG with this stupid upgrade? Just about everything! When will someone fix it?
