I've owned the game on my JP Saturn since I think 12 years ago, but have never bothered to play it through.

If I have time, maybe I'll burn a copy for my PS1. But... did you just say that you can ONLY play it on an emulator??? That's no fun. Oh well, I still need to play through the translations of Shining Force II Scenarios II and III.

My current consoles:

PS1, PS2, PSP, Saturn, DC, X-Box and Wii all are modded to the point that they are region free (PSP is anyway) and they can play burnt discs. My Genesis, SNES and N64 are modded to be region free (so easy with the Nintendo systems)! 3DO, Neo Geo, Neo Geo Pocket Color, PS3, Game Gear, Game Boy original/color/advance/DS are all region free anyway. I need to get me another PC Engine/Turboduo! I have games I can't play right now...

Point is, I HATE how things are region locked.

I haven't done much with PSX emulation, but I would think it could be played on a modded system. I know there are ways to play fan translated games for other systems on the systems themselves such as Seiken Densetsu 3, Star Ocean, Tales Of Phantasia, etc.

The last Langrisser game I tried was Langrisser II on the Mega Drive/Genesis. I never finished it, but it seemed like a good game overall.

ITs fun To me on an emulator i think it might be a delusion in the mind to think its not fun on the PC, but i do know what you mean about emulators it feels not the same compare to playing on the game console to the tv , Im sure you can burn a copy for PS1, i Dont Know How, i do not Have a PS1 That works OR any system that mods ISOS

Yeah, my PS1 can play games from any region or copied discs. I don't generally copy discs I don't own, but this is a great example of a game I might copy. I already own it in one form (on the Saturn), so I don't feel wrong in anyway to download a translation of this to play since I own the game. Breaking copyright? Probably, but I don't care.

I don't see an issue with fan translations, especially when you own the game in one form or another. And I have my doubts the Langrisser series will ever be released in English.

Personally, I always hated how Working Designs never finished Cosmic Fantasy 1 and 3 for the PC Engine CD. I loved part 2, it's still one of my all-time favorites. I've heard rumors of possible fan translations being done in this series, including parts 4-1 and 4-2 down the road.

As far as I know, the only Langrisser game released in English was Warsong (Langrisser 1) on the Genesis. I could be wrong, but that's all I can think of.

I used to have Der Langriesser FX on the PC-FX, which was cool. It has the best quality intro of that era. Other than that, I've had part II on the JP Mega Drive, and then the three Saturn games (III, IV and V). Never really did bother much with it though, other then owning some of the games. There were a lot of other games I was interested in before slowly moving through the Langrisser games in Japanese.

there is a Der Langrisser on SNES English translation patch, its the same game as the Genesis version of Langrisser II but a remake on the SNES, never played either version, the Genesis version intro looks better to me, i don't know which version is superior, SNES Fun: Der Langrisser Scenario 1-1 - YouTube Langrisser 2: M.I.J.E.T. I haven't played any of the Fire Emblem games, to be honest. I'm kind of surprised Nintendo didn't bring any of the games to the NES or SNES back in the day.

I do like the Shining Force series, Dragon Force and Ogre Battle (haven't bothered with the other Ogre/FFT games), so I'm sure I'd enjoy the Langrisser and Fire Emblem games as well.

i like these types of games, Fire Emblem on the Game Boy Advance, was) is my favorite strategy game on handheld

I played the first U.S released Fire Emblem on the GBA. It was pretty good though I never did finish it. I had a bad habit of starting too many games at once in those days.

I love the Shining Force games. I always compared all other Strategy RPG's with the two that were released on the Genesis/MegaDrive. I even liked Shining in the Darkness, though i didn't care much for the action RPG Shining Soul games or Shining Wisdom, Same with Phantasy Star Online. SEGA disappointed me quite a bit with ruining some of those series.
