Hello! Today I received an email asking for support for a place called Lamplighter Academy. Apparently they need the rest of the money by July 30th.
I am somewhat familiar with the ministry. They republish old Christian books and do Christian radio dramas. I had not heard of this academy beofre, though, and I really like the idea of using an old church building as the center of the new construction. An entirely new way of putting life into an old church without converting it to apartments or something sad like that.
I also really like their focus on permaculture and I'm sure that will be a very useful tool for reaching out to people outside the church. Kind of a Christian take on the whole -one-with-nature mindset.
Anyway, I have no connection at all to this ministry (aside form purchasing two books) but I thought the idea was pretty interesting. So I thought I'd share the video here.
