Kumiko’s history:
One day while playing in a field outside of her home when she was still quite young, a terrible storm blew in. Kumiko was lifted by a strong wind and carried some distance away. When she awoke she did not know where she was nor even where she belonged. Her family searched but eventually presumed her dead. Kumiko was adopted by a wealthy but kind old couple. When she was 22 the old man died and Kumiko learned she was not their child and simply appeared on the doorstep as a small child after a terrible storm. Putting this knowledge with her nightmares Kumiko surmises the storm took her away from her true family but she has no idea where to begin to find out about her past. Kumiko learned the story from the woman, Yumi. Kumiko knew she was different for she is fair and blonde, where most of the people in this village are fair and dark-haired with different features than hers.
Yumi decides Kumiko needs to be somewhere they can assess her strange gift. She knew the ‘Third Hokage of The Village of the Hidden Leaf’ many years ago and she decides Kumiko would be best taken to him. Yumi had not heard of his death for they live high on a mountainside in a remote village of shepherds, not of much interest to anyone.
However a village boy that knows Kumiko and has seen her strange ability to ‘walk into’ her paintings has left and gone to work in the Village of the Hidden Leaf. Tsunade finally gets wind of the rumor about this ‘strange girl’ and decides to investigate.
