Nu metal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
List of nu metal bands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some of the entries on the list are rather stupid, as several of them only had a passing connection to the nu metal scene, and predominantly or really only ever played a different genre (like Industrial rock or just general, albeit maybe heavier-than-usual, Alt. Rock), but touring at Ozzfest seems to be one of - or the only - criteria that list must be using. It's also somewhat ignoring that a few of the bands in there have grown rather far from whatever nu metal or rap/rock roots they might have once had or were famous for. Like Linkin Park.

Korn, along with Limp Bizkit, were among the hip-to-listen-to bands of the mid-to-late nineties - in fact I distinctly remember sewing an embroidered patch of the rag-doll from their ISSUES album cover onto my school bag just to be cool - but those of our generation who grew up immersed in that sorta music scene have now generally begun to see it for what it truly was: a screaming jungle cacophony made popular only by the desire to "fit in." That doesn't mean I won't listen to them every once in a while just for nostalgia's sake, though.

Well just like industrial rock, it's hard to find good quality bands among the mound of trash. Most of it is just really poorly written and produced to the point that I find it unlistenable.
