Knowing Gods Will & Knowing God Will!

There are a lot of hurting people out there who are wondering in their hearts, “Will God give me a wife / husband or not” This “wondering if” is causing many of you to be sad and hurt. People without hope are like a coconut husk upon the sea being tossed here and there by what ever wind blows, it never settles and is never established.
The effect of “doubt or lack of assurance” causes unnecessary sadness.

Hannah is our first case to look at.

She in 1 Samuel 1:7. Wept and would not eat as her enemy (the other wife) taunted her. The enemy does that to us when we don’t have any firm foundation of faith.
Hannah’s life up till then was one of doubts and distress, no real hope, no assurance no peace.
Its not Gods will for you to be in that state of mind, He wants you to know for sure that He will provide your deepest hearts desire.

Hannah in 1:17, receives assurance from God via Eli the priest. Look at the effect of it. She now in 1:18. Is NO LONGER SAD, do you want to be like that? She now had faith, faith is like that coconut finally being grounded and rooted and it cannot be moved by the waves of doubt. When the enemy says “Your destined and doomed to be single, like or not buddy” you can say, NO I know what God has promised, and I will wait His time how ever long that may be.

Listen, How could I have waited (still am) for 19 years for God to give to me my deepest hearts desire and longing without faith? I would have caved in years ago.

How do I get faith?

Faith comes by believing one of Gods promises and holding Him to His word.

For me I use Philippians 4:19. “My God will supply all your needs..” and Psalm 37:4 “Delight in the Lord and He will give you your hearts desires”

If I have doubt I am as James says “double minded man, and unstable and God doesn’t promise to answer me, if I’m so”

Some will try and say to you, “are you a fool, what right have you to dictate to God what you want” You should say “if it’s the Lords will” etc.

Listen, Jesus taught a very important principle He said “That man should always pray and not give up or faint” He also in Luke 18:1. Teaches us that we are permitted and encouraged to pray for things even when we aren’t sure its Gods will! He teaches us that if we deeply long for something and it almost life and death to us if we don’t have it, then we should pray and know and ask ask ask until we receive.

If you dearly aches and long for something that’s not sinful, it is very likely that God has put that desire there, especially if you are living a righteous life.

God is a God of compassion and mercy and grace. In all the years I have waited in faith for Him to provide I have not doubted once (all of God) Ive felt like giving up mind!! I have ASSURANCE and this is what you need. A deep peace that says I know God will provide.

Lets look at Hezekiah. God said to Isaiah go and tell him he will die and NOT live. Isaiah says You going to die and that’s the end of the matter.

Hezekiah could have said O well if God said that that’s it I cant ask Him to change His mind. What if you that you will never have a spouse? Yet you deeply ache and weep for her /him? Will you say O well I guess its not God will or will you say “I am so hurt and longing for this need (which is a need!!) I will not give in until I have assurance that God has heard me to the point of granting me my request.

Hezekiah did JUST THAT he didn’t sit back and pine away! He got on his knees and WEPT and PRAYED to God, PLEASE LORD PLEASE, I know I’m not worthy, please grant me my request! God says Ok Ive heard you and I will grant you your request and give you 15 yrs extra life.

If he had not asked he would have died!! God is waiting for you to ask and believe and receive.

If you are not ready for her / him yet (He knows best time) He will delay the time of giving. He has made me wait, and I am so glad for in that time I have become mature mentally emotionally and spiritually and I will make a better husband.God allows delays to help see whether we really want desire what we are asking for, if its a real desire from God it will last the test of time.

The Syrophencian woman, came to Jesus for a request, Jesus said basically NO, the disciples told her to push off!

Did she give up? NO! She would not give in, she knew how much she longed for this request, its was real deep cutting stuff, and she obtained.

Jesus always encourages us to persist and not give up.

Listen God is God of mercy, He wants to give you great gifts.

You don’t have to live your life in sadness and doubt. Your life will be weakened, and sad and powerless.

Its not spiritual to keep saying “Oh Your will be done” God says, “Prove My will and pray something” please please my child pray,I want to give but I want you to ask. We can say your will be done when we really dont know what to pray, and if you use such terms I am sure God will honour you but He prefers you to get on your knees and be spirituallt bold in humility and ask.

John, I believe God is going to send you an amazing wife one day in his perfect time. God bless you for your patience in waiting. God's word tells us he is able to do for us more than we could ever ask or imagine. And he has good plans for our lives. I admit it's hard to see sometimes. But the word also says that faith is all about believing in what we cannot see for if we could see what we hoped for it would not be faith at all.

John, I am perhaps content in not having a mate since really, really, I am not trying to get a mate. And not just with my so-called wanting and requesting for "want for independence and want for privacy" but also it is perhaps most of all God's way and will for him to tell me that he doesn't want me to make a mistake in getting a mate and/or husband. If God wants you to marry, well he will tell you in your heart and soul.

John, I really enjoyed reading your post. It's great that we have a God that we can rely on; we don't have to wonder (or doubt) whether or not He's going to do what He has promised. I know that God will give me all my desires in life; change the bad ones and fulfill the good ones. I know God will give me a life beyond my wildest dreams. I don't have to worry about missing out. I have a God I can rely on.
