Know anyone like Caedmon's Call? The Search for Unshallow Music...

I've just started listening to a ton of Caedmon's Call music (I'm late I know) and I love it! I don't like everything that they do, but for the most part their lyrics are so much deeper and more spiritual than so many other Christian singers that I've heard. I also love everything by Derek Webb who broke off from Caedmon's call. Does anyone know of any bands that have a similar sound? It's really not even the sound, just the lyrics that I love. It seems like a lot of Christian bands have very shallow songs that could be about God or their girlfriend I just want something with some meat. Any suggestions?

They are pretty good. I'm not saying that all of my music has to be super deep but lately it seems like any music that's deep is hard to find. I love bands like Third Day, Casting Crowns, Jennifer Knapp, Jeremy Camp and others. I just want to find some new stuff. I'm more into folk/rock/bluegrass/hippie than anything else but I'mopen to anything. Waterdeep is another pretty cool band. I love the good old praise and worship but when I listen to Caemon's Call and Derek Webb it makes me really think. It stretches my mind to see outside of the box. It makes me want to become the Christian woman that God intended and not some lukewarm Christian who just floats through life not impacting anyone for the Lord. Thanks for the suggestion so far. Try Cool Hand Luke. They are really cool, but I am not sure of their lyrics. I haven't listened to them in a while. Or Johna 33

Check out Sufjan Stevens. He is an amazing folk artist, and his lyrics contain enough obviously christian themes for even the most conservative listeners.
