  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I never saw a thread on it so I decided to post. I myself and a few others out there are either new to knitting/crocheting or both. I found this but that was it so far saw a few DVD's/Books on amazon. Any advice or links for people that would be interested in paying 1/4 the price for a sweater in a Vogue magazine, and all they gotta do is make it. So post away! (I'm eagerly listening as my knitting is limited to casting on and making a row or two of well...knitting lol.)

If I can get some more progress done like more than 8 rows I'll take some pics and post em up here. I'm sure EVERYONE loves to look at other peoples mistakes...makes theirs feel more insignificant ;) plus with the Holiday season around the corner everyone could use some inspiration.

Progress!! Ok 2 yarn sharks and this is all the progress I got lol
HERE That was side 1?? (Wrong side right side I dunno lol)
HERE Side 2 lol
HERE Yarn shark caught in the act had to grab the points cause she had the yarn in her teeth didn't want it to unravel lol
HEREGot the yarn from one and got the attention of the other...they both were staring me down for my yarn lol
HERE I had to lay on the yarn the dogs were trying to fight me for it after a few minutes wrestling for the yarn and getting nowhere Haddie tried the kisses approach to act all sweet and innocent to get her way lol.

Post pictures of your knitting/needlepoint/crochet progress lets see how everyone's doin. ;):D

I haven't knitted in awhile I'm gettin back on the horse. Going to make a few "Prayer" swatches, I dunno, I would like to make fingerless gloves the type where the fingertips are out but, I can't find a pattern, having problems reading a pattern and need to start with a smaller scale to get the hang of it. Before I was just knitting rows and rows with nowhere to go lol. help?

Standard list of abbreviations on Knitty (great mag, btw)

Thanks! Maybe now I can do a REAL project lol. I tried making a cocoon shrug, and I tried making an afghan and I seem to have a problem. As I'm knitting the first couple of rows, I end up with a long awkward string from my first loop/stitch/cast on. Any way to fix this? I have a habit of keeping my stitches tight, that seems to be what's causing it but even when I "loosen up" it still happens. Help?
