  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi

which denominations are actually KJV only? Or has this nothing to do with denominationalism?

Esdra

It generally has nothing to do with denominationalism. I believe that the KJV is the official bible of the Church of England (or at least it was for centuries), but that's only because it was translated specifically for that church, and has nothing to do with KJV-only'ism. The only churches that advertised themselves as being KJV-only were independent churches that weren't part of any denomination.

This squabble over which language translation of Holy Scripture is an amateur's issue. Why fret over such a thing when if it truly matters, then we must learn languages of the original transcripts. Every translator renders a different translation for words that have no direct translation. Think of it this way, we are so lazy, when it comes to understanding God's Holy Word, that we rely on linguistic translators to do it for us. So why should we complain? We simply get what we deserve, another man's view. Thank God for the Holy Spirit.
