My church is KJV only. Not because we think we are elitist (or any thing that I have read recently about us KJV onlies) but because we as a church are all on the same page. Nobody has the RCA dog look (just look at the dog on an RCA album with it's ear to the victrola) on their face when the scripture being read isn't in their Bible or doesn't say what their Bible says. And for other reasons that I don't particularly want to debate just now.

Nope. Very few people use the KJV in my church. I value it as a literal scholarly interpretation written in very poetic english that is sometimes difficult to understand by modern readers but was a magnificent literary achievement for its time.

Our church uses NIV most frequently while I frequently use the NASB for bible studies. I also use the NIV, KJV, NRSV and The Message for certain situations where the strengths of those particular translations provide insight.

Have we not beat this issue into the ground already???? :help:
It's just a poll to see who is using the KJVonly, not a debate or theological talk. I've had my share of conflict the last few days.

I was just asking my (Baptist) friend about this the other day. I know that within Catholicism there are a handful of approved versions to be used, and which version that is used for personal study is up to the individual. I was asking her about how that is decided within Baptist churches - if there was any uniformity, etc.
