Truly of all men ever born, none shines more brightly that John the Baptist.

And yet even the lesser lights in the kingdom of heaven will be greater than he is.

And from the time that John the Baptist began preaching and baptizing until now.

Ardent Multitudes have been crowding toward the Kingdom of Heaven.

John the Baptist that preached the kingdom of Heaven will be the least in the Kingdom?

Why is this I would rather have scriptures evidence than oppinions.

Are we even going to make it to heaven?

 Sounds unlikely to me. Evee

Very simple. John the Baptist was not born again. He died and was among those preached to in hell when Jesus descended, but he did not live to see Pentecost. He, along will all others who lived in the OT and the gospels were living under the law and did not see the church come into being. No one was born again,  including the apostles and John the Baptist, until Jesus rose from the dead. We, along with all the OT saints and John were raised up together as the body of Christ with Jesus(who is the head) on that day.

He should no longer be the least in the kingdom then right?

That could be true....

I believe it to be in Matthew but can not find it.
Where did it say he preached to the spirits in hell?
I will keep looking and be back if someone don't find it first.
I do believe it is there Adam. Evee

Acts 2:27

1 Pet 3:18, 19

AC 2:27 ( No Preaching Here? )
because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

1 PET 3:18-19 ( Yes Preaching Here )
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison.

EPH 4:8 ( No Preaching Here )
This is why it says: "When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men."

Hi billhabing,

I was reading and studing your links you provided.

Is this what you think also,we are to be conformed to be more like Jesus while we are living?

We are to work toward this goal.

It is a growing process maturing in the knowledge of Jesus.

It is now but not yet does this mean we are not in the fullness yet?

Live as though it is to prepare us of the Kingdom to come.

I have to admit I have never understood this much.

Am I on the right thinking here?  Evee

We are to work toward this goal. Actually some would say we do nothing and let Christ Do it all, I think we work with Him.

It is a growing process maturing in the knowledge of Jesus. It is all process as far as im concerned, It gets better every day.

It is now but not yet does this mean we are not in the fullness yet? We still await the fulness, Your Kingdom Come Your Will be Done.

Live as though it is to prepare us of the Kingdom to come. I think we have Eternal life now, we are being conformed to the image of Christ.

I have to admit I have never understood this much.

Am I on the right thinking here?  Evee

Evee of course you are on the right track, if you would like me to give you some references from the bible I will gladly do that.

In Matt 11:11, It was Jesus who said "Verily I say unto you, amoung them that are born of women there hath not risen one greater than John the Baptist; yet he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."

and in vs 12 Jesus continues on to say, "and from the days of John the Babtist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

My question is, where is this kingdom of heaven that Jesus spoke of. Here on earth or the place where Jesus is now.?

 I wonder also.

bilhabing would you help us with this?

Where is this violence that has been suffered at the hand of the Kingdom?

 Is it earth or heaven?

How many christians has prayed for thy kingdom come thy will be done.

Didn't even know what they were praying for?

 I have.   Evee

Could it be that the kingdom of heaven is right here. The abode for those who have been born again(or born from above), recieved the baptism of the Holy Spirit and have chosen to make Christ their King. The place here on earth where His children live. ?

Does it exist in the physical or spiritual realm?

Ardent Multitudes have been crowding toward the Kingdom of Heaven.

I think this is a good translation, my undestanding is that this is happening even today on earth. There are many who believe that the Kingdom is all future. I believe that Jesus taught his disciples, demonstrated to them, and then sent them out to experience the Kingdom on their own.

Remember that at one point He sent out 72 not just the twelve. which means that provision on earth was not just for the 12. Jesus left them with the instruction to make disciples, to know what disciples are all about just read what they did, and are doing today.

IMHO there is no higher call than to be a disciple of Jesus, to become the president would be a step down. May God bless those go with Jesus and do the Kingdom stuff today.
