Prolouge: Sora, the keyblade wielder had started on an adventure to save the worlds and find his friends Riku and Kairi. He joined up with Donald and Goofy, who were told by king mickey to protect the wielder of the keyblade, but King Mickey dissappeared, so they searched for him as well. They ventured to various worlds, battled Heartless, which are beings that fear the keyblade and try to kill its weilder. They encountered Sora's friends various times until they reached Hollow Bastion, where they saw Riku was being controlled by the evil man named Ansem. Sora fought Riku\Ansem in a daring duel and defeated him. In order to save Kairi, whose heart was taken by a heartless, Sora took keyblade that Riku\Ansem used in battle. (It could unlock people's hearts.) He stuck it into himself, saving Kairi and seven imprisoned princesses which were there as well. He became a heartless and something dramatic happenned... a nobody was created. His name was Roxas, whom is the person this tale is about. Sora later became human again, saved Riku and Kairi, killed Ansem, and found the missing King Mickey. They locked the door to drkness, leaving Riku and King Mickey behind it. They searched now for the door to light. Sora and co. then found a castle where inside they began to lose their memories and battled the mysterious Organization XIII. There they found Namine, the girl who was altering the groups memories. She helped Sora and his friends regain their memories but the task took a year. This story tells of Roxas' doings while Sora was adventuring and up to his deep sleep...

Somewhere in the far-off darkness Roxas appeared. He looked around and said, "Where am I?" "A place of despair," a man in a black cloak answered. Roxas whirled around to see who was speaking. "Who- who are you?" He asked. "Tht is of no concern at the moment to you. I have a question, would you like to be a real person?" The man asked. "Aren't I already one?" Roxas said blankly. The man laughed, saying, "Not exactly, but you can say you are and get away with it most of the time. Anyways, are you in or out?" "Sure, I guess." Roxas answered. The man took off his hood, revealing spikey red hair. He smiled, and said, "The name's Axel. Got it memorized?" Roxas nodded and began to think howhe should answer, he didn't know a name to use until one popped into his head. "The name's Roxas." He said and Axel nd Roxas shook hands. Little did Roxas know, but he had just joined Orgnization XIII.
