Why do you do the things that you do?
Why do you say the things that you say?
Is your approach with kindness, or rude?
Is without thought, or do you first pray?
Kindness is truth, so it doesn’t speak lies.
Truth should be spoken with love, don’t deny.
Lies are intended to trick and deceive,
So we will reject the truth, and lies believe.
Lies are oft covered with sugary tales,
For sugar, they know, the way is to sell.
Truth without sugar is oft an offense
To those who like sin, who will then not repent.
Christ our example to follow in this,
How to approach telling truth, not a hitch;
How to be kind, tell the truth, not the lies,
Without compromising the truth on the fly.
So, we should desire tell the truth, and be kind,
But not with results that their sins they rewind.
For kindness is truth, not the lies with a twist,
For truth of the gospel is why we exist.
For God sent His Son to a cross, die for sins,
So by faith in Him our sins can be forgiven.
Our sins put to death with Him then on that cross,
So we’d die to sin with Him, not lives be lost.
So, by faith in Jesus we die to our sins,
We follow His ways, His commands, with no spin.
Our lives are surrendered to God, do His will,
As His Holy Spirit in us does now fill.
