for those of you who arent farmiliar with Ki, it is a type of spiritual energy that is believed to allow people to do extraudinary things, such as surpass physical limitations or even preform "magic" to some extent

i cant explain it very well, being that i only know what it is from examples in tv shows or books, but from what i can tell, it is closely tied in with religeon and is not exactly "witchcraft" or "black magic"

i assume medetating and training can never hurt, but if the unnatural levels of Ki are even real, would it be wrong to learn such a thing?

i dont know how to explain or even ask this well, but i assume if u are farmiliar with Ki you should know what im asking, so is Ki good, evil, or even possible?

IMO the concept of Ki is simply quite foreign to the western mind. Or, we may call it "mind over matter" and such. I don't think there's anything inherently "magical" about it, but I do believe a lot of eastern culture has easier to recognize and utilize "hidden" powers. I believe the mind is far more powerful than christians and westerners think.

It may well be more powerful that we think, but God has made it clear that we are to rest in his power, not our own.

That which was created by God was created to serve a purpose. Eastern philosophy has a lot of excellent points to make.

I believe that Chi and other things of this nature are from demonic sources and aren't of God. I don't recommend anyone listening to message of channeling Chi...think about it...you are channeling a supernatural force...how are you doing it? By your will...how is that glorifying God when the glory goes to your will (or the demonic spirits that are feeding you)?

Well, it has been said that we only use a fraction of our brains, and thus of our minds. What if God designed the remaining fraction to channel His Holy Spirit into our "reality," or communicate with Him in some other way?

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my Strength, and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14, emphasis mine)

The Tao is the same as God, if you bother reading about it. The Chi is symbolic of the Tao.
I disagree. I don't not believe in a yin yang, nor do I accept a solid state of yin yang. Futher, a pharse comes into mind....having a form of godliness they deny there of.

So you do not believe in a state of good/evil that exists? Or that there is many representations of duality in nature?

But as a Christian, this isn't one of them.
It's always come through a great many of my philosophical points, and many people here have agreed with them. The Tao as a religion is, obviously, not correct as it lacks Jesus. But their philosophical points are beyond refute by even western philosophy.

Of course, I believe in good and evil. It is God who distinguished good and evil. However, Tao is not Christianity. Tao can state truths, and God is present in all truths. However, Tao is not a complete image of faith to God.

Of course, I never said it was. The philosophy is a wonderful thing, and can be very beneficial to a believer, however.

Christianity is a philosophy of life. And, any time when anyone matchs the truth of God, God is present. Therefore, when you hear of a complete truth, accept it because it is of God and glorify God.

I'm fairly limited on my knowledge of Eastern philosophy and religion, however, I do somewhat remember that Yin and Yang have nothing to do with good and evil. At least from what I can remember of world religion classes.

Christianity is a philosophy, very true. Eastern philosophy has a lot of ties to Christian philosophy that Christians seem to overlook, which is why I prefer it to Western philosophies. Though I'm far from encouraging the kind of spiritualism that a lot of these strange people seem to be adopting that has absolutely nothing to do with Eastern Philosophy, and is actually an element of Post-Modernism and Crowlean thinking, though they may not realise it as such.
Peace of mind is something beneficial for all people, not just some people. Patience is also.
