  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Kellyanne Conway Thinks Justin Trudeau Is Just ‘Jealous’ of Trump
Conway went on to call the casual conversation between world leaders a “childish, churlish exchange” before spinning it into a positive. “They were hardly denouncing the president’s policies,” she said. “They were hardly denouncing him.”

Suggesting that people on social media were making too much of the moment, she asked, “What was it really about? It was about the fact that President Trump commands a room. And he does. And maybe that makes a couple of people jealous.”
...anyone else think this sounds like something an overprotective mom would say about her obnoxious bullying kid to explain why no one wants to hang out with him?

President Trump's eyebrows have never fallen off in front of the international media. So she might be right.

My observation of most world leaders is that they've got pretty big egos. Otherwise they wouldn't be where they are.

Winston Churchill might have motivated the Western world in World War II with his dogged determination and brilliant oratory. But he was no shrinking violet in his personal life.

The likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Pope John XXIII and John Curtin (World War II Australian PM of humble origins) are few and far between when it comes to national or international leadership.

When it comes to their personal spats, it doesn't interest me. And wealth can make people arrogant.

Many years ago I was sharing a house with a few other young people in Perth, WA. One of them was a young Austrian lady, who worked in an upper market hotel in the city. One day she came home in tears and said "Some of these rich Americans can be real b-------ds!!" She was upset!

I don't know what happened, as she didn't elaborate, but wealth can make some people very arrogant, and so can power. Combine the two, and you've got the makings of eggshell temperaments.
