  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I mentioned his name in my Teen Challenge thread and realized he was before their time.

Anybody else here remember him?

I was not big into Christian Rock but someone gave me his albums (yes, albums).
I believe his beat was even off than normal Christian Rock.
And his message was also before its time - certainly fresh to music.
It was all very Biblical.

I was a freshman in college when he dies in a plane accident.
I was going to college just outside Boston, Mass.

I believe his next concert was scheduled in Rhode Island.
It turned into a Memorial Concert and some folks I knew at the college went down to it.

He was a Christian artist at the height of his popularity.

Here are
Keith Green lyrics.
And here is his
Last Day Ministries site with his biography.

:prayer:

I just started a thread in the Deeper Fellowship forum with lyrics of one of his songs:
To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice

Kieth is my favorite artist. I love the passion and conviction that his music carries. I used to recieve a publication that Last Days Min. put out that was right in line with the Word. I think I still have a few in the attic. He left this earth too soon. I think my favorite songs by him are Song To My Parents and I Don't Want To Fall Away From You and My Eyes Are Dry and.....there are too many to name. Those definitely rank up in the all time favorites. If any of ya get a chance to listen to him, do.

Looking at the site with the lyrics by album...
I need to buy the CDs now.

I gave my albums away with my turntable stereo many years ago.

He had an awesome message.
I think it is a good way to start the new year...refamilarizing myself with his lyrics.

There was obviously a reason I thought of him and his music today.

I use to get those newsletters too.
Yes, he died too soon.

Yeah, Keith Green was awesome. I had the privilege of seeing him in person once in Castro Valley, California. It was very sad to hear of his plane crash, killing him and 2 or 3 of his children. That was a long time ago, probably around 1983, or something like that.

I remember him well and still play his music often. His message is for all generations and is just as effective today as it was when he was alive. I still remember when he died, I was babysitting that night and was very upset to hear the news. I mourned his death as if he were one of my best friends.

YOu should all go out and read the book about him "No Compromise" from memory, written at least in part by his wife? Excellent look into the life of an man who had an amazing heart for God.

Keith's music style doesn't agree with me much but i sure appreciate the lyrics.

Some of you will be familiar with a couple of songs he wrote that are used in churches these days - songs like "There is a Redeemer" and "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful"

Anyone know Steve Camp? He's like a modern day Keith Green.... his lyrics hit home hard and are convicting of how a Christian should live their life for God - none of this wishy washing stuff you hear so much of...and just like Keith Green, Steve Camp would like his music to be available to everybody, whether they can afford to buy it or not.

I use to have Keith Green albums and listened to them alot when I was younger.
He was definately before his time.
The music style was a bit odd but grew to like it some.
I will have to look into Steve Camp - I recognize his name.

One of my favorite Keith Green songs is "So You Want To Go Back To Egypt", especially when he gets toward the end and starts going on about different things to do with manna - like manna burgers.

I think I've got 3/4ths of his best of on cassette.

I've got a bit of Steve Camp too. But I can't remember a single song of his at the moment. I probably bought his stuff around 89-93.

I've been listening to nothing but KEITH GREEN music for the past... month or more.

I really wish I could have met him, but he died before I was even born. I heard of him because my mom knew him. She met him, and she went to his Bible studies. My mom used to ALWAYS listen to his music in the car. So now I listen to nothing but Keith Green.

He is SO amazing from what I've heard and read about him. I wish I could've been one of those people who knew him.
