  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Our church runs two services on Sunday mornings, and our Sunday school program runs during the second service. The first service usually finishes around 10:40am or 10:45am, and our second service begins at 11am. It was my hope that the Sunday School teachers could meet at 10:45am to pray briefly together, and then be ready in their classrooms to welcome the children by 10:50am. This has worked very well for our younger classes. However, the older children are often "let loose" immediately following the first service, and tend to be very disruptive if there is no one in their classroom to supervise them immediately. Apparently attempts have been made in the past to ask the parents to keep control of their children, to no avail, and the kids feel that there is no where else for them to go. I would still love to find a way for the Sunday School teachers take a few minutes to pray together before Sunday School begins. Any ideas?

What if each Sunday one teacher would be available in a room where these children could go and have a snack for them OR a small activity for them to participate. They could sing, colour or do a search-a-word or? you know the children so you might think of something they could do for that time. If your teachers took turns then they'd only miss out on the prayer time ocassionally. Sorry this post comes so many days after you posted. I just joined.

what about having a kids worship time for all of them to gather together with the children's minister, followed by a prayer, and then dismissing them to the individual classrooms?

that would give the teachers more time in the lesson and crafts area (or the the teachers could gather together in prayer while the kids are in worship), and it would give the kids their very own leader in the church to look up to, with a worship service designed just for them that isn't too long, or not over their heads.

statistics say that ages 10-12 are the prime time to evangelize to kids and let them know that the church cares about them too, and that they aren't just 'the church of tomorrow', but they are a vital working part of the church of today.

we integrate our kids ministries right into our regular church ministry for ages k-6th grade. our kids (well over 300 of them at last count!) regularly participate in the adult worship 3-4 times a year with their own presentations.
With their child like faith they serve as a BIG inspiration to the adults.

the teens have their own 2 worship services each Sunday with their own minister, and the 18-30's have their own minister and worship services too, on Sunday night to accomodate those who have to work on weekends.

when it comes to a big program for the church, every age level participates and comes together, each bringing their own offering, music, skit, games, fund-raiser, or food. Whatever is necessary, we all do our part, because we're all a part of the church, from the youngest to the oldest. No one is left out who wants to be included,(even visitors!) because everyone's contribution is valued, no matter what it is.

feel free to check us out on the web.

First service gets out at 10:45 and Second service starts at 11:00? thats not enough time for transition for anyone. Pastor, worship team, tech, and the congrigation to get there. I would suggest like ending the first service at about 10:15. There is no time for fellowship. Thats my two cents.

Good point. I did not notice the transition time was so short when I replied to the original poster.
