I'm looking forward to hearing his stuff. One of my friends rapped me a few lines tonight, I liked it!!
Speaking of Mase, didnt he leave music to become a preacher or something?
Mase still does ministry a couple days a week I think. He did leave for a while though to do something with church though. The remix he does with Kanye West is great because it shows a stronger Kanye. Like it's a Part 2.

The song had a good message behind it, yes. I wish he wouldn't have included the cussing in the beginning but even in that context he was talking about other people basically.

I look at some of his other songs and it just breaks my heart though because it's more like he wrote "Jesus Walks" to make a point than to really be set apart. When you look at some of his other songs it's exactly what rap artists are known for. Like "Dreams Of ******' Lil Kim".

Those are two good points.

However, how many music artists in general have come out with a song about Jesus in the secular scene? At least Kanye is doing something positive there. Plus he's passionate about the song, he released three video's of it and said in a recent interview that he heard God's call for it. Out of every type of secular music, i see more God references in rap/hip-hop than any other.

But you also here more demeaning references to women is secular rap/hip-hop than any other. Unlike other genres, they think they can act the way they do and still serve God.

I agree, there are many demeaning references by some, not all, rap artists. Other genres have the same problem though, maybe not in the same context, but you can find plenty of negativity in all music. Hip-hop will always be the whipping boy, and in some cases rightfully so.

I don't agree with your last statement though. Nobody has come out and said that they can act however they want and still serve God. Not everyone is serving God, but they do talk about him at least and recognize the need for him in life. I just rarely ever hear that in the other secular genres.
