• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

KANYE WEST NOMINATED FOR A STELLAR AWARD???

THIS IS A JOKE RIGHT???

ATTENTION ALL HOLY HIP HOP ARTIST, LISTENERS, AND BELIEVERS!!! For your information, I just got the news that SECULAR HIP HOP ARTIST, "KANYE WEST" has been nominated for a "STELLAR AWARD" for the song titled "JESUS WALKS." For those of you who don't know what the "STELLAR AWARDS" are, it's Produced by Central City Productions. The Stellar Awards celebrates the year in gospel music. The nominations are received and voted upon by SAGMA (Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy), who is made up of members that encourage and promote gospel music worldwide.

Now, that you have a some insight, let me say this, "I am completely against the Stellar Awards nominating Kanye West for the Rap/Hip Hop CD of the year. There are so many Christian Hip Hop artist out there that go unrecognized as it is. It is a slap in the face to us all that represent who Christ is. We all know that "Jesus" walks with us all, in which we have been confessing that since the day that we let him enter in. I am not mad at Kanye because he didn't nominate himself or try to make the song a hit on Christian charts, but the Owner of the Stellar's should be ashamed of himself for even allowing such a nomination. And how could one possibly allow for the song to play on christian radios, churches, christian performances, etc when he uses profanity in the song "Jesus Walks?" If you want to protest this, please feel free to write a letter to

I think that it is okay, i mean i would much much rather see an artist who labels themselves as Christain. But what if Kanye actually touched some people who don't believe in Christ with that song, i mean you have to give him some credit for writing a song like that, and having it get number 1 on Mtv countdown or TRL or whatever it was, and besides that just cause he doesn't label himself as Christian doesn't mean he doesn't still have the same beliefs and stuff, he maybe just wanted to reach more people by putting his song up to non believers, why preach to people who already beleive in Christ?

Stop defining someone's faith in Jesus you don't even know! The man believes Jesus is the Son of God and is his Lord and Savior. That mean's he's a Christian. He wrote a song about how Jesus walks with everyone, even the "bad people" and reached out to people and got there attention. Other Chriatian Rap Artists have failed to come close to this. They need to stop rapping to the choir if they really want to make a difference...

It's a good song that could be nominated for Christian song of the year possibly but if you listen to the whole album you'll know it's not Christian appropriate. I'm not saying he's not a good Christian. The song seemed a lot more genuine and less hypocritical then some other secular rappers doing Christian songs. What's wrong with preching to the choir sometimes. We need our strengthening as well without the artist trying to appeal to a secular audience.

you know what, i really dont have a problem with this. i love the song, and yes, it would be better without the curse words. but this song did touch a lot of people who do relate to that. it does have a very powerful message, and i know so mny kids who heard that song and actually asked me if they coudl come to church sometimes. it opened a lot of people's eyes, and it was really the only mainstream rap song about God and Jesus. i'm not saying its okay for it to have curse words, but it did open a lot of people's minds. maybe it should be cleaned up before submission for the awards, but it is an amazing song.

I am sorry, but has anyone actually listened to the lyrics in the song.

He is a cocky, drug condoning bigot.

He rambles on about the constant "oppression" from the white man. He has no respect for authority and made this mostly as a ploy that he could make a song about God, and it still be successful. He is a horrible roll model for kids, and that is who his prime influence is on. I am going to get a headache soon.

I think that he deserves this award, and I also think that some of you need to open your minds a little.
Have you listened to the whole album and heard all the non-christian stuff on it. I don't care if he does consider himself a Christian. You can't just do whatever you want in life as long as you believe in Jesus!

No I haven't yet, and I don't care, because I'm not going to judge him about it.

Why are you judging him by what's on the rest of the album? He's getting an award for Jesus Walks, not for his entire album.

I am glad he was rmoved from the ballot, yes the song might of touched some people, but if he was a TRUE Christian, he wouldn't cuss. It says in the bible that you are not supposed to cuss.
He is a true Christian. He believes that Jesus is our Lord, doesn't he?

Everyone sins. To say that one that sins is not a Christian is ridiculous. You should stop saying who is and who isn't a true Christian, because you are wrong, and you should stop judging others.

The award was for the whole album actually. I'm not judging him. I'm saying his album isn't a christian music album.

Yes everyone falls short, but when you so blatanly sin, and knowingly do it on an entire album, and talk about other unChristian things, then you are not a true follower of Christ. A true follower yes will still fall short but not like he does.
