Name: Kane
Age: 8
Race: Asian/Caucasian
The child of a convicted felon, Kane (pronounced Kah-nay) has a hard life. She might as well be considered an orphan since her father, Akemi, is sentenced to the hangman's noose in weeks anyway. Instead of hanging her head and crying, though, she's decided to take on a life of her own. Taking up her father's old weapons, she carves out a name for herself on the streets of her village. While she simply tries to get by, she figures out that she can't stand idly and watch as evil-doers take advantage of that which she's held dear up until her father left.
Kane's favorite weapon is the tanto, a type of Japanese short sword/knife that was most famously used in ancient Japan for different types of martial arts and as a self defense weapon for women (carried in the obi of their kimono, a tanto could be quite deadly to the thief or vagrant that tried to assault them). Of course, another famous use of the tanto is one that most people know it for, the Japanese ritual of seppuku which was used to restore honor to the defeated warrior. In using this weapon, Kane has a type of dark undertone that tends to stick to her personality as she deals with people that she doesn't know.
The girl isn't very shy. She's very outspoken and tends to get what she wants either by outright taking it or persuading/charming people into giving it to her. She wouldn't call herself a thief, but the baker that she commonly borrows from certainly would.
