Justified Violence?

When Is Violence justifed? Or is it never justified? not just killing put a protective violence.

I would say that it is justifed if it holds a greater sense of security or justice for the whole of society(or from the perspective of the bigger picture) and done with righteous intent.

At some point you (general) must fight back. Unless being utterly destroyed seems appetizing to you.

As someone who had to learn to run fast or fight back at several periods through her life, I wholeheartedly think that violence is sometimes the only answer.

If I was a God whose mortal body was soon to be sacrificed for the sins of the world, I probably wouldn't be too concerned about getting beaten up either. Can we talk about human beings now? Preferably ones we can all agree existed.

A question for pacifists:
If some drunk has hold of you be your collar and start threatening you, saying he's going to kick the **** out of you, would you really take the risk of trying to hold a rational conversation with him?

The difference is that Jesus wanted to be crucified, it was his idea, right? Unless you particularly want to be beaten into a bloody pulp by a drunken lunatic the analogy kind of falls down.
