I tend to think, he selected them for their reputation as very aggressive prosecutors, not because of their politics.

Mueller having Dems do some of the work tells me that he cares more about who will do the job best than whether they're registered as a Democrat or Republican. That's showing integrity. Thanks for doing a terrific job pointing that out for us!

Yeah, I just looked up the members of the team. Mueller picked folks who had a ton of experience. Very impressive.

Read about Trump's lawyers. His personal attorney donated $$$$ to President Obama, Biden, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid. So it appears Trump cared more about competency than only ever rooting for Republicans too.

He says it but I doubt many of his voters believe it. They realize that the man is at heart an artist but I cannot under the rules of the forum specify exactly what sort of artist he is but he has been known to deal in the manure of a specific type of male bovine. His voters know this for the most part and have no problem sifting through it to look for the kernel of truth within. I know several people that exhibit the same qualities as Trump and I have no problem knowing what to believe and what to chalk up to, well, that manure I was mentioning.

Agreed. Donors tend to be more biased than those that don't give money to political parties. and donors to a politician that loses tend to be more biased against the person that beat her than people that did not donate to that politician.

Yeah, something tells me that if the POTUS was a dem and a special counsel's team was made up of republicans, you'd have a different take on it. In fact, the leftwing media would be crying to the Heaven's about it.

Very true. My point is that out of ALL the lawyers on the team, you'd think that at least a few would have some ties to the GOP. This would give the appearance that some care was taken by Mueller to be objective.

Why does it matter? Surely what matters is if they're competent criminal investigators and prosecutors, and what the results of their investigation are, not where they're political loyalties lie.

Or are the people they're investigation getting nervous, and attempting - yet again - to impune the source to discount its findings. It's almost as if there's a formal fallacy of logic dealing with this exact situation.
