• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just for once let us all try to be honest.

For everyone's benefit. If you allow the Ten Commandments there then you have to allow the religious writings of all religions. Your religion belongs in your churches and your families. If you try to foist it upon others you can't complain if others try to do the same to you.

Ya ... that seems to be pandemic around here.
Then don't ask bogus questions that attempt to limit the answers. It is highly likely that you are wrong. That technique only works if one is demonstrably correct and we know that is not the case for your beliefs.

No--that was before the fact! She agreed before it happened.

Ah, yes, my bad -- I was conflating Matthew's and Luke's narratives... how embarrassing.

I understood you clearly---thus my reaction. Or do you need me to explain it in simpler terms?

Since you appear to believe stories that have been known to be false for over 150 years it is quite apparent that you did not understand. Again, this technique only works if one is demonstrably correct. Your side is not. That is why they lose case after case. Whether it is before a fairly conservative supreme court or even before a fairly conservative judge.

Well, in fairness, you already know when the Muslims ask, the Christian response is going to be "no."

That, and a trunkload of blithering hysterics about "creeping sharia." best to nip that argument in the bud.

Including the ones who put it up ... LOL!?

Do you think it's appropriate to eek & ook if the Muslims post their religious writings on their courthouse lawns in their country?

Behind closed doors ... got it.

So unbelievers can tax us and pass laws against what the Bible has to say.

Ya ... go to a Muslim country and post the Ten Commandments and watch the poster get his return flight cancelled.

Come here and post the Ten Commandments and watch our own Americans go up in arms.

Yes, even including the ones that broke the law in the first place.

Then let them get their own courthouses.

What makes you think those courthouses belong to Christians?

Do you think it's appropriate to eek & ook if the Muslims post their religious writings on their courthouse lawns in their country?Behind closed doors ... got it.

Their country, their rules. Again, watch the false charges. No one goes "eek and ook". Would it be appropriate for me to describe creationists going "derp derp derp what's that" when scientific evidence is presented to them?
So unbelievers can tax us and pass laws against what the Bible has to say. Then let them whine and moan.

The Bible is merely a man made book. Perhaps you should go and start your own country where you can make your own rules.

Who made you guys their cheering section?

I always tend to cheer for those that are in the right.

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, of course. You see, AV, while you bask in the knowledge that only the Others get shafted, the rest of us realize the truth:

We're not talking abut a Muslim Country. Go there yourself.

Different countries different rules. The UN would oppose Muslim countries doing that, but the UN has no teeth in these matters. Would you be willing to give them teeth? I wouldn't.

There is no valid evidence for your "Supreme Judge". It appears that you would laugh at someone making the same claims as you just did about Allah. Yet they have just as much evidence for their beliefs as you have for yours.

Morality is the same. But no one has been claiming here that what happens in Muslim countries is moral.
Well, I'm sure they're pleased unbelievers are doing their work over here for them.

Starting with the Bible in schools and Ten Commandments on our courthouse lawns.

Their attitude towards us is probably:

Give them enough rope and the unbelievers will hang them (the Christians).

He wanted the Ten Commandments off the courthouse lawns, did he?

He knew that if "Christians" actually had them in their hearts, they wouldn't need to be on the lawns.

Seriously, AV -- what's the point of having them out there? Crib notes?
