Princess, I paint some pictures but mostly on things. I paint on birdhouse and wooden boxes. Usually on the birdhouses I'll paint a yard scene, like other birdhouses, chairs, flowers in pots. I really like farm scenes. Barns are my favorite. I'm an old farm girl so I love those things. I'm horrible also at painting walls, it's all over me. My husband is like yours, when he's done painting, you can't tell it. Not fair!

I pray everyone has a great day. I won't be around much until next week, my DH and I are going away for our 5th anniversary.

My DW & I just celebrated our 15th anniversary. It's hard to believe that we've been married for 15 years. I am even more puppy-eyed in love with her now than I was 15 years ago. She is a marvel of a woman & I thank God every day for blessing me with such a friend & companion. I pray that you & your DH are as happiy married as we are & that your love & commitment will only grow with the years.

Khalil Gibran writes: "How glad I am that you and I are here to see and hear and be. And I am more than glad that you are you; how lonely I would be if you were not."

Be well!

I love that kind of painting too. Farm scenes are cool...I'm a country girl. I have a barn, buts its not the old type. But, we have property next to ours that has no house and has a very old wood barn, a little ways down from our driveway. It looks like we have 2 barns, but we dont.

I pray you have a wonderful day too. Happy Anniversary and have lots and lots of fun on your special day. I have been married to my husband for 16 years. He is precous. I love him more than words can say...I did put a small poem for him in the lower right hand corner of my signature though.

stillsmallvoice, that was a very, lovely post.

Hi all!

FervidPrincess, thank you for your kind words.

Die Kaiserin asked:

Do we have any authors here?

I've written a little.

DW & I suffer from primary & wholly unexplained infertility (i.e. DW has never become pregnant & the doctors have absolutely no idea why). Before we did our last treatment (our 9th IVF), I wrote the following:

Again the needles,
again the vials,
again the hopes crumpled up in piles.

Optimism? Certainly not.
Confidence? Completely shot.
Former dreams? Gone to pot.

We don't want to look back over our shoulder
when it's too late and we're much older,
gnawed on by Demon Whatmighthavebeen,
"If only we hadn't been so stubborn and had given in!"

Into the breach? I suppose.
Just by rote? So it goes.
Better reasons? None of those.

Again, but as if in a trance.
Again, but tired of the new-old dance.
Again, scared to miss one last chance.

But we do not complain! God has been good to us beyond measure & has blessed us with two marvelous boys, both of whom we adopted here in Israel. After we received Yohanan in May 1997, he was 4-months-old, I wrote the following:

His eyes they shine so brightly.
His smile, it lights the world.
He has made us whole (and that so sprightly!).
We are proud, like a flag unfurled.

We need no secret arts
to see the love upon his face.
He has crawled into our hearts
And filled an empty place.

Who is this Heaven-sent little boy,
a Third who joined Two to make One?
He’s our song and he’s our joy.
He’s Yohanan our son.

After we received Naor in November 2000, he was a wee 2.5-weeks-old, I wrote this:

The circle has now expanded. Our family? It has grown.
He has come to join us and call our home his own.
This precious little boy, whose eyes shine like the sun,
has not turned Three to Four but has made a bigger One.

A source of light, so full of love,
he makes our hearts to soar,
Truly a blessing from above,
Our son and brother named Naor.

Be well!

Hello everyone. Just reminding people I exist. I like your poem smallstillvoice, I like writing.
I saw my careers advisor today - anyone have any idea what are good careers?
I used to want to do science but I am getting bored of it, I think the only reason I liked it was because I was good at it. I want to get to play with ideas.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi Sophia23

I always thought being a chef was a great career choice. What are some of the things you have interest in at the present moment? Do you like animals alot...being a vet would be cool.

Take care Sohia23...

I have always wanted to be the captain of a ship...a really big ship. The first thing i remember wanting to be was a garbage man. Later in life I wanted to be a teacher. I ended up being a first aid attendant and a chef. I was a craft service person and an assistant catering chef. I have also dabbled in creative home business. Now, I'm teaching cooking classes.

Sophia there is a booming market in Graphics, Illustration and CGI. You said you like Art right? This is how you can actually make a living being an artist. Also if you're any good at scupture or 3-D art, you might want to look into special effects and makeup for the movie industry.

Well, you asked.
