Just Diagnosed Yesterday

Hi My name is Sherry Lynn and I am 43 years old. I was just diagnosed yesterday and I am feeling a little overwhelmed but also relieved as it explains alot!

Anyone have any ideas or hints for a newbie??

This is an excellent post that describes BP. Welcome to the forum! I have found this a wonderfully accepting and supportive place over the years. Browse the old threads. We used to have a lot of activity, but things have slowed way done here recently. I remember all those mixed feelings when I was first diagnosed. . . .

Know that finding the right med can be a process and do not hesitate to speak up about side effects. The big issue can be more finding a doc you can work with. Took me many years of the wrong diagnosis and then about a year to find the right med/combo for me. So do not give up. Seek learn grow, lots of info in books and on the internet about our illness. Learn to forgive yourself and seek forgiveness with those you have hurt with illness based stuff. Known It took me awhile to get use to the "new" me on meds. It didn't feel like me. . . It wasn't the me I wanted to return to being after I got so sick. But I have learned top accept that this is who I am.

Anyway, I hope others will welcome you. But ask away with any questions you have and I will check in a couple of times a day,don't always have much time to respond but will do my best!!!
