to all of you Calvanists in here I was wondering if you could help me. I want to read up on Calvanists to see what they believe. Cna you point me in the direction of some good books to read so I can find out if I am Calvanist and if so whether I am a 5 pointer or a 4pointer and so on and so forth. Thanks for all of your help.

How about some links:
CRTA has some good stuff.

The Highway is another site.

Founders Ministries is a Southern Baptist Calvinistic site. There is good stuff there.

Here are some books I can recommend:
Evangelism & the Sovereignty of God by JI Packer

Chosen By God by RC Sproul and

Willing to Believe: The Controversy over Free Will by RC Sproul (I have not read this but if it by RC it should be good).

The Five Points of Calvinism: Defined, Defended, Documented by Steele and Thomas

The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination by Loraine Boettner.

The Sovereignty of God by AW Pink.

Bondage of the Will by Martin Luther.

That should be a fair starter list. If I can help you in your search please let me know.

Dominus Vobiscum,
Kenith

Putting Amazing Back into Grace is a great title to understand the reformation and the TULIP. Horton does change the names of the TULIP acronym to make it easier. For example, instead of "Total Depravity" he uses "Rebels Without a Cause" but the gist of the matter is unchanged.

Another thought is to go online. I have a project I work on from time to time on my blog to help others understand where I'm coming from when I discuss the doctrines of grace. The Table of contents is found here. There's also a chart that shows the differences in theology at the site of the man who answered all of my angry questions when I thought this doctrine was hateful and that people who love the Lord would be carted off to Hell just because they didn't make it on the list.

Of course, you can ask any questions you like here, and there are gobs of non-hyper Calvinists who would be glad to explain our viewpoint without biting your head off.

I'm reading Grace Unknown by R.C. Sproul(noticed that BBAS also recommended it). It's very good, and what I like about it is that it's very systematic in it's approach. It doesn't JUST cover TULIP, but goes over some other stuff that I found very helpful. I'm pretty new to the whole reformed faith thing, so it's been very helpful.

I also just found the CRTA site that Cajun linked. It seems very good--haven't gone through it in any depth yet though...

Good luck, feel free to ask any specific questions you may be thinking of...
