Two Judgment Day's, where will you face the Lord?

1) Judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor 5:10) = Believers Only

2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
(MY NOTE: Cor written to believers see 1 Cor 1:2)

2) White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11) = All that rejected Christ's sin payment & resurrection until life's end/death

1 Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
(MY NOTE: Sin is the transgression of Gods law.)

We've all broken God's law & deserve its sentence invoked in (Rom 6:23 = DEATH).

No one can say they're not a sinner until some means is provided (not to take away the law) but to remove the sin, which is the transgression of God's law.

Faith placed in Christ's sin atoning death (sins required wage PAID), burial (proof Jesus died) & resurrection (Father God's receipt, sin's required wage/payment received & accepted).

Takes away/removes & forgives/pardons: ALL of the believer's sins Past-Present-Future. They're IMPUTED (Rom chap 4/Lev chap 4) onto Jesus. Jesus then imputes His righteousness on to the believer & they become the righteousness of God in/thru Christ (2 Cor 5:21)

Having had their sin removed, at the Judgment seat of Christ, the discussion is rewards, NOT, sin/judgment based.

Col 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
(NOTE: [Col 1:2 written to believers] When believers stand before the judgment [bema] seat of Christ. Every good work done in Christ's name, will receive a reward. Even a cold drink of water given in Jesus' name (Matt 10:22). Sin judgment isn't the focus here, Jesus paid for & removed ALL the believer's sins [Past-Present-Future]. Rewards are the focus at the Judgment seat of Christ)

1 Cor 3:8-14 Good works receive a reward. Bad or No works [hay, wood, stubble, dead - 1 Cor 3:11-15) result in shame & or loss of rewards (Matt 25:28) take the talent, I gave him, & give it to another, that worked).

1 Cor 3:15 If anyone’s work is burned up, "he will suffer loss", "though he himself will be saved"
(NOTE: Hay, wood & stubble deeds/bad or No works/dead [1 Cor 3:11-15] will bring, shame & loss = of REWARDS not SALVATION)

Rereading verse 15: He "Will SUFFER LOSS", though he "HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED"

White Throne Judgment: Rev 20:11-13 = non-believers only.

What's the litmus test for sin - The LAW!

The people at the White Throne Judgment have rejected Christ's, redemptive sin atonement. Having no cover/cloak for sin (Jn 15:22) they are judged without mercy according to every jot & tittle of the Law (Deut 28:14-60).

Everything they've ever done or said, has been "RECORDED". Every idle word ever spoken, is judged. End result, eternal separation from Creator God.

(MY NOTE: Cor written to believers see 1 Cor 1:2)
No, the judgment seat of Christ is not for believers only.

Here is another passage where Paul wrote about the judgment seat of Christ.

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Notice verse 11 here. Paul was referencing this Old Testament passage:

Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

Notice here that even those "that are incensed against him" will bow their knee to Him, so this shows that unbelievers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ as well.

In the following passage Paul applies the Isaiah 45 passage to everyone and not just believers, also:

Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

And then there is Matthew 25:31-46 which shows both believers and unbelievers standing before Christ for judgment as well. And in that passage you can see the unbelievers, represented figuratively as goats, will be cast into "everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels" which lines up with Revelation 20:15 which says that all whose names are not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.

So, there is only one future judgment day, not two.

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

As we can see in the passage above, God has appointed one day where everyone will be judged, not two.

It is a day that unbelievers will be punished and believers will be rewarded.

2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Authoritative NT apostolic teaching presents only one judgment, in the last day.

In the following NT teaching of specific locations of the final events, the Judgment is specifically located in the last day:

Jesus locates the resurrection in the last day (John 6:39).
Paul locates the resurrection with the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
Jesus locates the rapture with the second coming (Matthew 24:39-41).
Jesus locates the second coming with the judgment of the sheep and goats (Matthew 25:31-33).

So in terms of the time of their occurence,

the last day = resurrection = rapture = second coming = final judgment of sheep and goats (all mankind)

(and the resurrection being in the last day with the judgment of the sheep and goats--all mankind,
thereby making the resurrection also to be of all mankind).

So. . .Revelation being figurative prophecy given in riddles--
as God told Miriam he spoke to the prophets in riddles in contrast to his speaking to Moses clearly (Numbers 12:8)--
and, therefore, prophecy being subject to more than one interpretation, as well as
Christ being the judge of the world (Matthew 25:31-33; John 5:22; Acts 17:31; 2 Timothy 4:1),
we don't know that the figurative judgment of Revelation 20:11 is not the same judgment as
2 Corinthians 5:10.
