Do you think Judas went to heaven or hell? Some believe he went to hell because he killed himself. Some think he went to heaven because he seemed to realize what he did was wrong.
To say that its punishment implies that there is one side that deserves Heaven another that deserves Hell.Well, yes, when we sin, it is by choice.
The Word of God clearly indicates that Judas Iscariot was not saved .
One need not to look any further than Matthew 26:24 where Jesus says,
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him : but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
A lot of lessons to be taught and learned here.
Judas felt remorse (guilty) of his sin of betrayal, but he didn't show any indication of repentance.
Feeling remorseful of our sins does not save anyone.
Repenting (turning from our sins and towards God) is how one receives forgiveness and salvation.
The Word of God does not indicate whatsoever that Judas Iscariot did that.
Instead out of guilt he returned the 30 pieces of silver and then hung himself.
He most likely hung himself believing that "it" would be over , but that is speculation on my part.
However if that is the case (I believe it is) he is literally dead wrong . It actually is the beginning of the rest of his existence separated from God until The Great White Throne Judgment .
I shudder to think of being separated from my Lord and Saviour . Thank God that will not be the case for me.
However I do not believe according to The Holy Word of God the same can be said about Judas Iscariot.
He most likely is in hell until the final judgment where he , all unbelievers, the false prophet, antichrist, and Satan himself are thrown into the lake of fire that burneth forever.
Let the record show that this brother in Christ (me) does not believe that suicide is the unpardonable sin.
That is another topic for another thread therefore I will not expound upon that in this thread.
For those of us who are saved children of God I would say share the gospel and love of Jesus Christ to the next person you come into contact with.
Amen

All glory be to God now and forever!
There are consequences to our actions. When we sin, the consequences can be most unpleasant. The purpose of the commandments is to show a path that avoids these unpleasant consequences. To say that its punishment implies that there is one side that deserves Heaven another that deserves Hell.
We ALL deserve Hell as there is no good in any of us. We are saved my mercy, not on merit.
The choice is, do we agree with God or do we agree with man?
If we agree with God we will HATE our sin, doesnt mean we wont fall into it, but if we hate our sin we wont excuse it as Adam did.
If we agree with man we will justify our sins as "nobody is perfect" thus living in or wallowing in our sin like a pig returns to the mud.
We are no more worthy before the sins of today than we were yesterday.
Some sins arent as easy as "choice", have you ever looked at a woman with desire that wasnt your wife? That's adultery regardless of action. One may be able to control their action.... however taking control of EVERY single thought is a bit more difficult. If you found yourself angry at a bother or sister, that's the same as murder... etc....
Say someone hates that they lust... but they want to change.... they arent going to stop sinning just cause they choose to repent...it takes time... that is where growth in the Spirit and in prayer comes in, that God will change the heart, the core in all of us that is the problem.
Roman's 7 even talks about WANTING to do good and yet DOING bad that isnt wanted so it's not always as easy as sin=choice=punishment.

I think Matthew has another view on this situation.Luke 21
21Look! The hand of My betrayer is with Mine on the table. 22Indeed, the Son of Man will go as it has been determined, but woe to that man who betrays Him.”
Luke 22
Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.
Matthew 27
5So Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
No account of Judas repenting asking for forgiveness is found. Killing one self is not repenting. I do not think he will be in heaven.
Christ nor the apostles ever called saved believers sons of hell (perdition) or devils.
Didn't say there weren't..... but Hell is a result of choices, not punishment. There are consequences to our actions. When we sin, the consequences can be most unpleasant. The purpose of the commandments is to show a path that avoids these unpleasant consequences.

Of Judas he said,The Bible is fairly clear that Judas went to Hell, because he is the son of perdition. He did not go to Hell solely because he committed suicide, but because he remained dead in his sins against the holy God and rejected the truth of Jesus Christ. Judas had remorse for the consequences of his action, not because he sinned against the holy God. Judas did not have godly repentance.
I think Matthew has another view on this situation.
Matt. 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
Perhaps he was over taken with much sorrow and killed his self after realizing Jesus was his Messiah. I am sure Paul must have had a hard time with realizing that he persecuted the Church of God and needed that three years with the Lord to recover.
We will have to wait for eternity for a complete answer. I just figured "repented himself" was like the man in 1Cor 5 and 2Cor 2.No doubt Judas had remorse (regret) and led to suicide, just saying I don't find anything in scripture stating he repented or asked for forgiveness. Also returned the silver, trying to fix it himself? Was Satan still in him when he committed suicide? Dunno?
