Psychiatrist Jordan Peterson has relocated to the United States as the Canadian Parliament considers legislation he believes would transform his home country into a “totalitarian hell hole.”

Peterson, a prominent Canadian psychiatrist, announced on his daughter Mikhaila's podcast earlier this month that he had moved to the United States. “There are decided advantages to being here,” he said, identifying living in close proximity to his daughter as one benefit of the move.

Peterson also cited “new legislation that the liberals are attempting to push through” in Canada, Bill C-63, as another reason for his relocation. He maintained that if the legislation passes, he would be “living in a totalitarian hell hole” had he remained in Canada.

Wonder what kind of visa he got and how long it took for him to achieve U.S. residency? Lots of MD's from Canada practicing in the USA. Most do it to flee the Canadian health system and get better wages.
He is not an M.D. I am unsure about the portability of a Canadian psychology license to the state of Arizona where I read he moved to. I doubt it is easy to transfer a foreign license to Arizona and is perhaps made more complicated by recent action against his license in Canada. I suspect he is more likely at this point to generate revenue by writing books and being a media personality -- think Dr. Phil.

Good info., on his probable lack of a license. The article makes it seem like one can just move to the USA from Canada, but of course that is not true for 99.9% if they want a permanent green card. It usually takes a year to get a legal visa to work, so it would be interesting to know the type of visa he applied for and how long it took.

Isn't it funny how some are fleeing the US as they think its becoming a controlling hell hole while Peterson is coming because he sees the opposite. Maybe those fleeing the US can go to Canada. It seems a natural swap.

Peterson has always been ahead of the game lol. I am sure Trump will find something for him to do. I think he may even become more famous in the US.

He has already started an independent university which will not deplatform people because of their beliefs or views and is going back to basics with critical thinking and open inquiry as universities should be. Maybe Trump can use his prototype to fix Universities in the US.
